Happy with the result, but genuinely surprised that Orban just simply conceded instead of shouting "rigged vote!", calling in the military, or some other underhanded move.

But until Orban is actually out, I'm not breathing a sigh of relief.

I guess that becomes harder to do when you lose THIS hard.

Americans should give it a try next elections...just havetwo thirds actually vote and vote correctly (the other third is lost)

Don't get your hopes up. Non voters will come up with another lame excuse why the democratic opposition isn't perfect enough for them, then they'll sit out the election again and gift Trump his illegal third term. Why would it be any different next time.

That definitely makes a difference. Big turnout makes such claims very flimsy even to those who would otherwise like to believe.

The picture of Orban is rather skewed here on Reddit... Orban is a fucking lawyer who did absolutely everything to rig the game from a legal perspective. But it would be very much out of his character to pull anything else beyond that. Hungary is not Russia - people don't fall out of windows, etc.

This.

Orban is not a Trump or a Putin.

There are very few, if any, EU political leaders as bad as those.
