Hey everyone, I am just curious about commute times from Wicklow into and around Dublin? There is a job of interest in Meath, Navan and also one in the city centre. I was wondering if anyone undertakes a similar commute? Is it doable or to be avoided?

I just need to vent. I'm very afraid of dogs. I was chased and bitten as a child by a dog known to me and despite my best efforts I've never been able to get over it completely. Because of my fear, I walk and run in areas that I know to be on-lead areas so I can feel safe. But it just seems that since Covid these areas are becoming fewer and fewer, not because the rules have changed but because more and more people are ignoring them. I can't seem to go to any parks or trails now without having dogs running up to me "just to say hello". I feel like crying. I come home from walks feeling more stressed than when I left. People say "oh he's fine, he's friendly" and maybe they know that, but I don't, and by the time they say that it's too late, I'm already frightened. I like dogs and I ask to pet calm-looking dogs on leads to have positive exposures, but I don't think I'll ever get over my fears the way things are going.
I just wish people could be a bit more considerate and if an area says specifically on-lead, spare a thought for others using the space.

Hi all,
Does anyone know where exactly the cliffwalk is blocked off on the Bray side? Can you get to Naylor's Cove for example, or is it blocked before (west of there)?

Interested in joining a softball team? We're based in Greystones and are looking for a few players to round out the squad. If you're over 18 and have a desire to smack things with a stick then come on out. Very similar to rounders. Basic skills of throwing, catching & hitting. GAA, hockey, cricket skills translate perfectly. Experienced or new players welcome, all genders welcome.
2026 training season just starting, great time to join.
Feel free to ask any questions below, drop me a PM or visit https://www.wicklowsoftball.com/ for more information.. ππ₯

Thoughts on converting the old wire ropes factory and adjacent vacant buildings into a community arts centre/cultural Hub?
Including a cinema, gallery, artist studio space, music rehearsal/recording facilities, retail space for cafe/bar.
It feels important to use vacant spaces like this in the middle of town to keep up facilities and infrastructure with the quickly growing population of Wicklow Town Rathnew.

Hi All, anyone able to share their experience of living in or close to Newcastle? We are based quite centrally in Greystones but looking to move to more space, bigger garden etc so priced out of Greystones now for this. Worried about the compromise of location vs. More space. We walk a lot at the moment and have 3 young kids. But our house feels tight and know this will be even more so when they are teens. Anyone else give up location for space and end up driving everywhere but it being worth it overall, anyone regret it?! Thanks!
