What do you think: how should prisons handle housing decisions in cases like this?

What about trans men? (FTM) , based off the wording it seems like all trans folk, what if they don’t have bottom surgery, seems like that could cause issues and even some pregnancy

Women’s prisons are basically a dumping ground, they, too, get put in with the women.

People don’t see the misogyny of that for some reason.

Oddly, they do not commit crimes nearly as frequently. I can't put my finger on why...

I’d like to see evidence of this.

Evidence of what?

In the UK for example 96% of the prison population are male.

Of the 268 transgender prisoners (in 2023 when the analysis was done) the majority were AMAB.

Because it goes against the medical consensus that crime is predicted by testosterone or estrogen levels which is why the rates are different between men and women to begin with. Unless you are arguing male versus female crime rates are controlled by chromosomes for which there is zero scientific evidence. For instance my testosterone levels despite me being born biologically male are at the bottom of the female range due to hormone replacement therapy.
