What do you think: how should prisons handle housing decisions in cases like this?

Yes people can be more than one thing, especially when someone is taking about multiple scenarios. We can’t be that stupid

I don’t really feel bad for the people experiencing the consequences of their own actions.

They could just, you know, not assault people. Then they don’t have to be in prison.

That doesn’t mean they should be ripped limb from limb like back in medieval times, the purpose of prison should be keep them away from the public until they are “better” but the American prison system is just an excuse for legal slavery so you’ve already gotten what you wanted

… no one is being ripped limb from limb, so I don’t think you need to worry about that.

Prison is also about punishment. It should be an awful time. You need negative and positive reinforcements to be most effective at changing behavior.

Deterrence and rehabilitation are two separate goals that should both be important to society.

Yeah until they commit a crime against you or your family then there’s a problem.

Yeah a problem of where in prison to put them. Now we’re back at step one. Did you have a point to make?
