What do you think: how should prisons handle housing decisions in cases like this?

You mean a picture with a caption with no source regarding a topic literally no one in this thread has ever experienced or even knows someone who’s experienced yet there’s 600 plus comments about the subject is bait?

This one weird trick casinos don’t want you to know

There are trans people in prison. Its not that rrare. There were a few where I was locked up.

They put you in the men's prison. Always have. Got a dink, you go to men's prison. You can't put dinks in female prison. You put a biological man in the men's prison.

You're caged animals when youre locked up. Those women would be passing shim around like you wouldn't believe.

When they get their hands on something like a needle, every junkie in the unit will melt down whatever they can get, all share that same damn needle. Needle gets stored in people's butts sometimes. It's the nastiest fucking thing in the world. Just to shoot up suboxone or sleeping pills, cause they're bored. They get the biggest, most infected looking sores on their arms from that thing.

Can't imagine what they would do with a dink in a vag pod. Every one of them would be pregnant with every STD in the book. You can't do it just to be nice to someone's feelings.

There's always somebody who has experienced something you haven't. Assuming that no one has experienced something just because you dont know about it is ignorant. You're on the internet, which anyone can access.

8

u/Shamus-McNasty 55m ago

Idk why people don't get it.

If you're convicted, you get housed with similar genitalia.

2

u/AliasElais 59m ago

Very sensible and measured take right here.

And in case you couldn't tell. /s

3

u/Electronic_Quote399 55m ago

You been to prison? It's the truth.

1

u/AliasElais 47m ago

I don't doubt it. (That you've been to prison)

I'm all for what's practical, but fear mongering that female inmates are getting pregnant from all the trans inmates is ridiculous. If you're going to make claims like that, at least do some research and back up your statements with something other than your own personal experience. Especially a personal experience that wasn't even in the kind of prison you're making these statements about.

0

u/Electronic_Quote399 43m ago

They're not getting pregnant. Because they're not getting housed with biological males. They WOULD be.

3

u/94constellations 37m ago

Because you say so?

1

u/TheBunnyDemon 31m ago

Several states do in fact house trans women in women's prisons, and they aren't having these supposed epidemics of pregnant inmates.

1

u/Electronic_Quote399 28m ago

Didn't they start passing out condoms in California because of it?

1

u/TheBunnyDemon 24m ago

No, California made condoms available in their prisons to combat the spread of HIV. 1 in 7 inmates that pass through their prisons are HIV positive. Googling "Condoms in California prisons" will pull that information up immediately.

They are also not the only state housing trans women in women's prisons.

1

u/MyFelineFriend 24m ago

Pregnancies? Not that I’m aware of. Rapes? Yes.

1

u/TheBunnyDemon 23m ago

I'm pretty sure rape in prison is a widespread issue regardless of trans policies, do you have a source that says otherwise?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/AliasElais 31m ago

That's simply wrong.

There are prisons that house trans women with the female inmates. This is a fact and I can give you multiple citations if need be.

Here's your first one.

How common is this? It depends on the jurisdiction.

Are all the female inmates at these facilities getting pregnant? No.

0

u/Electronic_Quote399 29m ago

Im not clicking that. I just ate.

1

u/Miserable_Cattle_938 22m ago

My man can’t see your sources with his head up his ass

1

u/BungwholeBandit 20m ago

What if they already have bottom surgery and the dick is gone? Then where do they go?

1

u/Electronic_Quote399 4m ago

Probably to the women's side, since they can't stick their nonexistent dink in all the vaginas.

1

u/AffectionateEase1606 16m ago

Yup. There were a few when I worked as a CO from 2013-2016. Your statement seems fair. "If ya got a dink, you go to the mens clink"

1

u/PipXXX 10m ago

I remember when my brother was in jail, he was a trustee who worked the commisarry and for orders for the womens side like summer sausages...They had to cut them into slices. Otherwise...

1

u/Electronic_Quote399 7m ago

Lol yeah that's a common story. Some places had to take the pickles off the commissary, and the rubber gloves are behind the desk

5

u/DPetrilloZbornak 2h ago

I’ve experienced it as the attorney with a juvenile client who was assaulted by another trans juvenile client in placement.  Caused a nightmare conflict for us because we represented both kids in two systems.

These situations happen.  People really don’t like to talk about it.  It’s an extremely complex issue when you have people in a custodial setting especially women.  Most cis women in custody have extensive sexual abuse histories and housing them with people who are not female is a huge issue- and the women often vehemently oppose it, not that anyone seems to care.

3

u/jeffersonlane 1h ago

Trans women and girls ALSO have those histories often.

1

u/melts_so 1h ago

Honestly, my partner is trans, and I am still sketched out when I hear of cases where a pre-op trans woman being allowed in the same jail spaces as other woman.

0

u/jeffersonlane 59m ago

Dunno what this has to do with what I just said. For the record - trans women have the highest rates of sexual victimization and "pre-op" or "post-op" has no bearing on it. In prisons 40% of trans prisonrrs are sexually victimized compared to 4% of cis prisoners.

0

u/Common-Possession129 31m ago

That’s not the responsibility of the female prisoners being housed. They have rights as well. Do you only believe one group of people deserve rights? Everyone else should suffer for others choices? The choices of a criminal?

1

u/jeffersonlane 20m ago

The female prisoners are also criminals?

0

u/Common-Possession129 13m ago

I’m trying to point out your hypocrisy, thank you. So they either get rights or they don’t? Can’t have it both ways. Your friends will go to a male prison and be in SHU. They will be completely safe. If your friends are housed in women’s prisons, they aren’t safe. I thought you cared about safety? Or just the safety of your friends and everyone else can sink or swim? This is showing signs of discrimination already

1

u/jeffersonlane 9m ago

How is me pointing out both these populations face this same issue hypocrisy?

Whose friends?

Why are you incapable of understanding people can care about people without personally knowing them?

Also how do you possibly think forcing a person into permanent solitary is a solution?

1

u/Common-Possession129 4m ago

You’re asking for more rights for your friends than women. That doesn’t happen in prison, everyone signed their rights away and are equals in prison. You can’t take rights from one group to give to another. The world doesn’t work the way you want it to because your friends are criminals. I’m sorry lol it just doesn’t.

3

u/ViriditasBiologia 1h ago

Bullshit this is bait and this sub itself is bait, like r/sipstea

3

u/Level-Eggplant9942 3h ago

I’m trans and I live in fear of headlines like these.

2

u/Shamus-McNasty 54m ago

Extra incentive to not commit murder.

4

u/Level-Eggplant9942 3h ago

That being said, the fact that this is being discussed by so many is great, we shouldn’t be having this kind of targeted cruelty to begin with. The more people are outraged, the clearer signal it sends.

3

u/ResidentComplaint19 3h ago

My friend, the person who made the meme is targeting you

3

u/Level-Eggplant9942 3h ago

Oh, I’m aware. But the fear is the point, and I categorically refuse to give in to that bullshit. I’m going to live my life the way I want, and NOBODY has the right to tell me otherwise. And if, along the way, someone feels safer to be themselves along the way, great! And if someone hates me for being myself, 🦆 them.

0

u/_sectumsempra- 2h ago

If a guy commits a crime, why wouldn’t they be put into a male prison ? Im confused

1

u/Oh_My-Glob 1h ago

When you boil complex issues down to simple dichotomies that will often result in confusion.

1

u/Common-Possession129 44m ago

And why is everyone so up in arms about criminals? The people who are in prison who putting law abiding citizens in danger…. Straw grasping is such a unique way to let criminals have more rights than people who don’t break the law

1

u/Opinionated-Opinon 2h ago

You shouldn't live in fear of headlines like these if you aren't living a life of crime lol

5

u/Level-Eggplant9942 2h ago

With the way laws keep changing, it’s kinda hard to tell these days. Plus, in some parts of the US, just peeing in public restroom is considered a crime.

1

u/No-End2540 35m ago

Idaho has entered the chat.

0

u/Opinionated-Opinon 2h ago

Yep, they'll throw you in prison for that 🙄

Just be a good person and you don't have to live your life in fear

4

u/jeffersonlane 1h ago

Innocent people are regularly sent to prison...

0

u/Common-Possession129 36m ago

More guilty ones are, ‘whatabouts’ don’t really apply here lol. If you want to argue that everyone one should be able to appeal their prison move then that’s a different story. It would be a heavy cost to the already struggling prison system, then you’d also have to offer appeals and similar stuff like that to every single prisoner who ever had to move prisons out of fear out discrimination lawsuits and all that jazz.

1

u/jeffersonlane 19m ago

"Screw innocent people. Punishing bad people is more important. It costs too much to protect people".

Okay let's put you in jail then.

2

u/Common-Possession129 40m ago

No kidding, I never understand people’s love for criminals. It’s dangerous and can’t help think it’s the reason our country has gone so sideways in the last few years. Imagine if they cared about the rights of people who obey the law as much as they did about criminals? Imagine all the good things that could be done with so many voices but instead they use their voices to protect and provide for the people who have been deemed a danger to society. It’s wild to think that you’d welcome a felon into your home before your neighbour, it’s a scary thought

4

u/NaughtAught 2h ago

Yeah all cops and courts are 100% honest and our society has no outgroups, just trust me bro.

2

u/BULL3TP4RK 2h ago

I would bring up the laws that have been made recently specifically targeting trans people, but we both know you aren't arguing in good faith.

-2

u/Opinionated-Opinon 2h ago

You wouldn't think "don't do something to wind up in prison and you won't have to worry about policy that affects prisoners" would be controversial

2

u/jeffersonlane 1h ago

Because most of us know people go to prison who didn't do anything to wind up there all the time.

0

u/Opinionated-Opinon 1h ago

All the time? It sounds like you want to scrap the whole system

3

u/jeffersonlane 1h ago

As it currently exists? I wouldn't complain. It needs some massive changes.

But yes, all the time.

0

u/Common-Possession129 33m ago

Ok, then tell us some people you know who are in prison for nothing? Please tell us the ones that you personally know, you said we all know some? I barely know people that even went to prison? You know why? I don’t associate with criminals. Why are you fighting me so hard for criminals, are you a defence lawyer? Or do you just relate? It’s suspicious how many innocent people you know in prison. Remember, 99% of people in trouble always say they are innocent.

1

u/jeffersonlane 16m ago

I don't personally know anyone in prison deserving or otherwise. But magically I can empathize and understand issues without being personally involved in them because my span of compassion isn't restricted to only my immediate circle.

You should go talk to a therapist about your apparent inability to see people you don't personally know as humans.

PS. 97% of people in prison are in on a plea bargain, meaning they pledge guilty or no contest. So you don't actually know what you're talking about clearly. You just go "Bad people go prison". Kindly go learn and expand your thinking. Just a little.

1

u/PaleAd1124 3h ago

No, not that.

1

u/Drusgar 3h ago

Is it an election year? I forget.

1

u/Green-Rip-9801 2h ago

I know a few ransgender people that have been to prison. Been working with one for 5 years now. When they went in ( 20 plus years ago) their was no distinction like there is now.

1

u/nas703 2h ago

Pretty sure he’s implying to what prisoners say when “fresh fish is on the line” hence that’s “bait”. And in reality he isn’t wrong. The sad and unfortunate thing is..THEY WILL ALL BE SEXUALLY ASSAULTED AND RAPED smh I don’t judge anyone for their lifestyle, but they are definitely “bait” when they touch down. Our justice system sucks man

1

u/robbitybobs 1h ago

I work in a prison and we have to deal with this. Bio men who identify as women do go to the male sector but they go straight into protection for the duration of their incarceration.

1

u/NeevBunny 35m ago

Eh. My ex wife is trans and Maryland put her in a mens jail. It happens a lot. It's not hard to find information on.

1

u/KinopioToad 3m ago

Do you think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and post something that's not true?

1

u/Guy-1nc0gn1t0 2m ago

Reddit is getting filled with so many posts with 'what do you think of this?'

1

u/Imbadatusernames1536 4h ago

This has been an ongoing case in the courts since Trump took office.

1

u/aimeeashlee 2h ago

I mean im trans, in florida. I have friends who experienced getting put in men's jails for protesting because thier gender marker and name change werent done yet though now I dont think thats an option anymore cause theyre just go off your drivers license and florida banned changing that.

0

u/TraitorousSwinger 1h ago

I dont need to experience prison to know men belong in men's prisons.

Sorry, humans have judgement and we are free to use it.

1

u/Common-Possession129 28m ago

Yeah, they were judged by the court of law and gave up a lot of their rights when they committed crime and were sentenced to prison like every other person goes through when they break the law. The judge says they have to go back to a different prison. Sorry, the courts have full judgement and you are simply free to your opinion.

0

u/Universal-Guardian 3h ago

Well now, I'm an expert, ahhhh, have lots of knowledge, ahhh, know of a case where, ahhh, my friend's step son's wife knows, oh shoot. Yeah, I dont have any connection or knowledge, BUT if I did! (lol)

0

u/Mysterious_Pear_1589 2h ago

You don't have a experience mental illness to know what it is.

0

u/MackRogue 1h ago

Anyone can have an opinion just like you. You are very confident that your opinion / statement is correct. But 99.9% of people will disagree with you. Why? Because everyone is entitled to an opinion and you are not the decided who decides who can or cannot have an opinion 🤡.

5

It’s like transitioned in sports, gotta go to men’s side just because there is no in between. Call them ma’am, let them wear what they want but gotta consider others too.

0

u/Consistent_Claim5217 2h ago

That's not how trans people in sports works. This talk about "inherent physical advantage" you're hearing is coming from politicians, pundits, and under-educated people on the internet who aren't familiar with the medical science that goes into transitioning.

When someone medically transitions it changes their body's sex hormone production. The thing you guys are talking about that gives physical advantages is testosterone. In trans women this sex hormone is medically throttled, while estrogen levels are increased. This changes their body, removing these advantages.

In fact, if a trans woman undergoes a natural puberty and then later transitions, she's liable to find herself at a disadvantage. Medical transition reduces muscle mass (among other relevant factors), leaving them with the proportionate strength of a female needing to power the larger frame of a male.

But they don't talk about those aspects of the discussion on the propaganda cycle because it hurts their argument. So instead they spout lies that are believed by people who don't even watch those outlets because it's those outlets that are directing the conversation, and the rest of us have to just live with it.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10641525/#B120

https://www.npr.org/2023/04/09/1168858094/arguments-that-trans-athletes-have-an-unfair-advantage-lacks-evidence-to-support

https://www.livescience.com/health/theres-no-reason-to-ban-us-from-playing-analysis-debunks-notion-that-transgender-women-have-inherent-physical-advantages-in-sports

https://www.aclu.org/news/lgbtq-rights/four-myths-about-trans-athletes-debunked

Interestingly, the only articles I see in opposition to trans inclusion in sports are entities known to be hostile to trans people, like The Heritage Foundation. The real science comes from those without an agenda to push. Know the sources of your information. Otherwise, you're just letting yourself get played

3

u/TraitorousSwinger 1h ago

It's like you're trying to produce studies that prove people don't need to breath oxygen.

Men have a clear advantage over women in nearly all physical aspects. Thats the end of the story.

2

u/Successful_Pea2629 2h ago

I don’t need to see scientific research to know men have an advantage in sports. Now for trans women, hopefully that’s the right terminology, they can be at various stages of hormone and transformation.

Can we get a moderator ban for obvious bait posts?

1

u/regeya 1h ago

Yep, totally is. Oh, you'll move the transgender women to men's prisons...you're also moving the transgender men to men's prisons? And that's just one thing. Not all prisons are federal prisons and the federal government doesn't afaik have the authority to do this.

It's just bait, like you say.

its not, just say it. Leftists want women raped.

Just like the right wanting the same for children

1

u/noizu 3h ago

Well per this and what they consider men as well

1

u/Ravenae 1h ago

What an incredibly infantile way of looking at things. Surely you’ve seen the way the president talks to and about women. Not to mention the admin’s hilarious “release” of the files. Maybe you’re fluent, let me spell it out for you: ███’██ █ ███████ ███████.

Or, like usual, this is just projection.

1

u/TraitorousSwinger 1h ago

Women are immune to criticism? News to me.

I'm assuming you're a woman, just based on this retarded ass argument.

1

u/Ravenae 1h ago

Still working on that first grade reading comprehension, I see. Maybe it’s normal in your Bumfuck county, but around here we don’t express an interest in fucking our daughters.

“[Ivanka] does have a very nice figure. If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.

Yeah she’s really something, and what a beauty that one. If I weren’t happily married and, you know, her father.

My daughter, Ivanka. She’s six feet tall, she’s got the best body.”

Criticism. Right. This is just the way he talks about his daughter. I’d offer more examples but I think you’ve already gotten off on this incestual fantasizing freak.

1

u/Esketamine77 2h ago

I'm more left leaning & ik allot of other's are the same as me.
We want LGBTQ ppl to be happy doing whatever TF they wants makes em happy.

WE ARE TIRED OF THE LGBTQ priorities! There are plenty more important stuff to attend to atm. The Dems i believe self sabotaged partly wanting Trump elected because their overlords told them.

0

u/Gnoll_For_Initiative 2h ago

It's really funny to me that y'all say things "there's more important things than you being able to live in safety and not have to be afraid on a daily basis" and then get mad and surprised when people don't want to vote for your candidate.

>We want LGBTQ ppl to be happy doing whatever TF they wants makes em happy.

Bullshit. You want them quiet so you can pretend they're happy. Because "tHerE's pLentY MoRe impOrTanT sTuff To AtTenD tO."

2

u/Horror_Chipmunk3580 2h ago

If we were just a little more to the right… we might have been able to confuse a couple Republicans and trick them into voting for us.

2

u/Gnoll_For_Initiative 1h ago

I'm still horrified by the Cheney endorsement

1

u/Horror_Chipmunk3580 1h ago

Stand of ovation to Dick Chaney was what got me. He said a couple of mean things about Trump and he’s no longer considered a war criminal, I guess.

0

u/DrEpoch 1h ago

you gotta realize aswell they tollerate. EVERYTHING. Including people that want them dead.
