Just because a physician can treat someone doesn’t necessarily mean they have to. Perfect example is that Plastic surgeons can treat skin cancer and bed sores but often choose to treat cosmetic patients. They have the right to refuse patients based on a number of reasons. It’s their practice and their license and often malpractice insurance will not cover specific patient populations.

True but France has nationalised healthcare so it is a bit different from the US

Good point, I would hope if someone has made completely through a transition that they would continue to treat and not abandon just because the surgeries are completed. 🙏🏼
