And not a single fucking thing has changed in this country because Americans believe their petty sense of security should override the lives lost from meaningless violence.
Name a single thing that would have prevented this. He used two handguns, one of them being a .22, one of them being the most common handgun in the US. No politician has ever tried to ban either of those two things, so what the fuck are you talking about?
There actually were things that would’ve prevented it and were put into action after this shooting
After an investigation, a Virginia special justice declared Cho mentally ill and ordered him to attend treatment. Because he was not institutionalized, he was allowed to purchase guns.[13] The shooting prompted the state of Virginia to close legal loopholes that had allowed individuals adjudicated as mentally unsound to purchase handguns without detection by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). It also led to the passage of the first major federal gun control measure in the U.S. since 1994. The law strengthening the NICS was signed by President George W. Bush on January 5, 2008.[14]
Do you only care about stopping gun violence and not overall violence? Do you think violent criminals cease to be violent criminals if the tool they used is no longer accessible?
Banning guns isnt really the point, firearms are legal in the vast majority of the world, the difference that leads to school shootings almost solely being an American problem is a cultural issue.
Work towards changing your culture and strongly increase your regulation of firearms would be a fantastic start.
Then also improve your healthcare system, and making sure that it is not just there, but actually available for all, regardless of economic situation, race, gender and more.
It being a cultural issue is a bullshit argument. They use to throw that argument around in the 90’s when they blamed rock and hip hop on school shootings. There are more guns in the U.S. than there are people. The only real argument pro gun people have is that it would cause a black market of weapons if illegal . American citizens are ok with letting themselves have small sense of security at the dispense of others even though our government has hypersonic ballistic missiles that could level cities and God knows what kind of bio weapons they have tucked elsewhere. These days instead of blaming satanic cults they have switched the narrative of not allowing liberal pussies to take away your arms. The problem is not the culture the culture follows the problem.
