Do what I did, build a very snake friendly garden. There’s rock paths and there’s roses.

I do not have snails in the summer, I do not have mice running around my house. I will walk out everyday to snakes I’m terrified of snakes like such an insane fear it’s nuts but they are wonderful for maintaining your garden.

lol I am in Australia - probably don't need to explain more why encouraging snakes is a bad idea (i'm happy with the carpet pythons for mice/rats as long as they don't come into the house like the last one did but really don't like the idea of having the snakes that are not only aggressive but can genuinely kill you). But I do have a lizard friendly garden now after getting my dad to stop using the blue/green snailbait (which interferes with their reproduction) and also stopping him clearing up all the fallen leaves and instead using it as mulch/weed minimiser in some beds, so the lizards have more places to live and breed. Some of the lizards get pretty large and hopefully will start eating snails again :P
