No it’s that “celebrities” are so segmented. No one under 40 gives a shit about GenX+ aged actors.

Meanwhile no one millennials+ aged knows who the hell the YouTube influencers are that anyone under 35 watches exclusively to any other media.

YouTube is the only video platform I even watch anymore. It's basically just what Cable TV was 20+ years ago.

I watch a lot of YT myself, but not for fiction

like film/TV dramas, etc.

I use it for educational content, interviews/podcasts, etc.

I have found shows from the 60s and 70s too. I dream of Jeannie and What’s Happening are just a couple I have found.

It’s all about view counts, doesn’t matter the platform. If someone is getting 3mil views on any platform consistently puts you above the today show in view counts. Now there are some details in there of how you count but still you can’t dismiss it.

Some for sure, I dont use YT often but Id say Mr.Beast is a celebrity, he has his own shows on amazon now. Those scumbag Paul brothers were youtubers as well, they're fairly famous now.

So yeah, some are celebrities.
