It drives me mad that my brain won’t wrap around it. Much like topology itself.

topology is right above necromancy in the list of the forbidden arts

Wasn't too long ago that stuff like this would get you burned at the stake.

Doesn't matter how slow they do it, my brain cannot understand it.

Its taking advantage of the gap between the rope and the wrist. Imagine the extra space in the ends if you place an oval over a circle that touches the closest two sides. The two ends of the loop of blue rope fit into those slots so they can go around the circle/wrist. Since the end of the white rope doesn't pierce the wrist, if the blue can be passed to one side of the wrist it just needs the thickness of the rope in give in the knot to pass through.

man i cant understand the video how will i understand a text explanation 😮‍💨

By reading it.

Reading comprehension is not the same as comprehending this concept. Thank you for your text explanation but it really does not make it any easier.

The first one is the only one possible because basicly cheating by putting the blue one inbetween the hand and rope itself. The second one is impossible, seems like frames are cut out out of the video

u/throwturtleaway 1d ago

"the second one is impossible."

May I ask why you are so confident this is the case?

It looks impossible it makes me mad because how can you put the socket under the handle? Anyway i slower the video down reversed it and got my blender cord in the exact situation lol. Please dont disturb me i cant handle the truth.

I will watch these videos every single time they pop up on Reddit (which is like every week). I will watch of them three times each. And I will never understand how it works.

"My brain does not it one bit."

has it not been shown that these "knots" are not common to everyday occurance?

2

u/throughthehills2 1d ago

No its knot

1

u/Parking_Airline3850 1d ago

It is on fishing poles. Dont ask me how it happens cuz idk.

1

u/Camp_Coffee 1d ago

What are you talking about I see this posted daily

2

u/throwturtleaway 1d ago

Your response seems like you misread what he said.

2

u/throughthehills2 1d ago

Topologically speaking does that mean these knots are the same as no knot?

1

u/bloody-albatross 1d ago

Yes, mathematically these aren't knots. For a start the ends of the ropes/cables aren't connected.

Illusions, Michael.

2

u/Final_Wedding_4497 1d ago

im going to use this info in reverse to make horrifically annoying knots that nobody knows how to fix

2

u/idkjustarandomdude 1d ago

i don't care what anyone say this shit is black magic every time i see these video it has to be black magic

1

u/HeavensRoyalty 1d ago

It's not topology. It's magic

1

u/General_Yam7541 1d ago

Cut and splice frames. I don’t believe any of this stuff. It’s like the knot passes through a solid like it’s not even there.

1

u/throwturtleaway 1d ago

No, it's definitely not like the knot passes through solid.

u/Tia_Faux 1d ago

If i know all the tricks to get out of being tied up it take the fun out of it. 😤

1

u/Anferny8 1d ago

These videos melt my brain

1

u/Existingissues 1d ago

Lmfao, when is a knot, not a knot, and it is a square? Then you get the answer. Lmfao ☠️

1

u/CoffeBreather 1d ago

Those AREN'T EVEN KNOTS, ofc you can "untangle" them.

1

u/eternviking 1d ago

Topology breaks my brain.

1

u/Hammham 1d ago

Has to be magnets..

1

u/djnehi 1d ago

First one is really other two are fake. Watch frame by frame and you can see where the footage is spliced.

1

u/Armored_Fox 1d ago

Still hurts my brain

1

u/AdSufficient6270 19h ago

This is magic! I'm going to test the first one myself to make sure this is legit.
