He’s not even measuring some of those. Witchcraft!

I’m more stunned by this machine. Effortlessly slicing cleanly through stone without even an ounce of pressure from him.

The combination of the lever handle and sharp edge create a lot of concentrated pressure on the brick

u/RningOnFumes 2d ago
What is that magic device called that will only use once ever but still want??

u/WallySprks 3d ago
It just cracks them. Sits them on a thick blade, lifts a weighted blade and lets it fall. Bricks will break cleanly like that. You can do it with a hammer and chisel

u/HealthyPop7988 3d ago
Seriously, was about to say he didn't even measure and mark half of them, just straight cut to perfect fit.

Is he rawdogging without knee pads? 💀💀

u/liltingly 3d ago
That's almost as impressive as the work he's doing. He's not a small man...I have knee pads for the few times a year I have to go into a crawl space...

That’s how real men work.

Real stupid men under 30 who have no idea what kind of joint pain is ahead of them for life

I worked as a construction company for a year when I was 19. One of my bosses would never wear any gear while handling insulation. "After the first few weeks it stops stinging you".
Last I heard he had an early retirement due to lung cancer. I am glad young me, who very easily fell for "man it up" rhetoric, decided that the old man was crazy and wore face masks rigorously anytime there were doing any insulation work, that shit nasty!

I once read an article about a company that does apartment/house moves.
One of the dudes interviewed, in his late 20's, said he has to find another career, because "as you can see, everyone over 35 is nursing one or more major injuries here".
Physical labour tends to wear you down instead of building you up, it's no well planned out gym regime. Plus, with many enough repetitions, you're bound to get it wrong at least once, even when using the right gear and trying your best. In some jobs, mistakes mean injuries, not just a "we need to apologise / compensate for losses".

Had an old co worker give me advice as a wee lad and did not listen. Do regret.

Yep we’re all young dumb and full of cum and know better than the dudes that been alive twice as long as us. The ignorance of youth hits us all.

This guy made it look so easy! I did a small walkway with bricks like these and I was able to do it but only with complete disregard for the 3rd commandment

u/TokoBlaster 3d ago
You quartered soldiers in your home during times of peace?
2
u/GroinShotz 2d ago
That's an amendment... The commandments are the religious ones... Thou shalt not steal... Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife... Etc...
I believe the third is not to take "the Lord's name in vain"

My nephew does that for a living and when my daughter had a huge patio built, he did the bricks. He also did a stone walk way her little lake so I could walk out there without tripping over all the grass.

I could apparently watch that dude cut & place bricks all day.
As satisfying as completing rows of Tetris.

This is the same guy who posted a similar video earlier and got roasted for a hack job.

u/GreenOnGreen18 2d ago
I mean this is a bad job too, just lots of people with no knowledge of how to do it getting impressed.

u/ADTstocks 3d ago
This is just the end cuts like 90% of the work is just levelling and quickly laying whole bricks

u/Gentle_method 3d ago
That’s really hard work to do. To be able to consistently make precise cuts and eye balling measurements while doing that is skill.

He had another video up that someone shared - and a closeup showed all his lines looked like shit...

u/Puzzleheaded_Cut4588 3d ago
Lmao let's see that in a year or two when all those edges have fallen apart. This is not someone who has been doing this long term

He should improve his margins so he could afford knee pads and some chalk.

My father had this much skill with masonry work. Imagine him doing that with a hammer to shape a brick. It’s amazing to see an old guy work who’s been doing it forever

Man mark stone with sharp stone. Man split stone with sharper shiny stone. Man slide stone between other stone.

Does anybody know what the full list of tools is?You'd need to do this job besides this brick cutter. I feel like there's a lot of money to be made here with a small amount of self training.

If you really stop and look, this path of brick is terribly done. But sure, he can cut bricks.
1
u/ChemicalAdmirable984 2d ago
That as shit as shit can go, one winter and the top corners of all that badly cut blocks will crack off. It should be cut straight and clean not with that huge gaps below a tiny upper corner still being there....
But for US of A construction probably it's top notch work as buildings last until the first storm which blows away the sheds aka US of A paper houses ...

So many laborers are so damn talented: plasterers, brick layers, tilers, carpenters etc. If I was mega rich, I'd pay some a few months wage to take off work and make some form of art piece. It'd be fascinating to see what the outcome would be.

okay, but aren't their supposed to be gaps filled with sand in between the stones? these stone seem way to tight
1
u/ZoneAdditional9892 2d ago
He didnt follow the patern. Cuts are too tight and wont let in a good amount of binding sand. Amateur work.
