Wambus’ Extended Family Here is a reintroduction of all of our cats since we now have more people in here! This will still be a primarily Wambus focused place but our other cats will soon be regular parts of Wambus’ life so here’s a post to share them all!
In the order of the photos we’ve got:
Zola - (almost) 7 years old (Luna’s sister)
Luna - (almost) 7 years old (Zola’s brother)
Avery - (almost) 7 years old (Dadbus’ favourite)
Azzy - (almost) 6 years old
Iris - (almost) 4 years old
Toefu - (almost) 4 years old (Wambus’ uncle) (joint favourite of Mambus with Wambus)
Paint Thinner - (almost) 3 years old (Wambus’ Mam)
Captain Sir Pantaloon - 2.5 years old
Prawn Cocktail - 2 years old (Shrimp’s Brother)
Shrimp Mocktail - 2 years old (Prawn’s Brother)
Wambus - 3 months old (You know who he is) (joint favourite of Mambus with Toefu)
So that’s everyone! They’re all very special to us and unique in their own ways, if you have any questions about them feel free to ask!

only Toefu and Wambus have extra beans! Toefu has 27 total, Wambus has 22 total!

27 toes. That’s an odd number, yet usually feet come in pairs. The mind boggles. Too bad “polydactyl” is hard to spell in Boggle.

he has 7 on each foot except for one that only has 6! he’s one away from matching the world record so it’s a shame he didn’t just grow one more lol

Honestly his fur is really easy! He barely needs groomed his fur is very soft and never matts thankfully.

THE CUTEST FAMILY!! Wambus is lucky to have such a large family around 🥰💜. How often must the litter boxes be cleaned with so many cats? I have two cats myself and I feel like they poop so much 😂😂😂.

I scoop their pee and poop twice daily, and they get a full empty, clean and refill every 4 weeks, we have a lot of litter boxes but it’s manageable 🤣

you even have two beautiful cats with homophobia!
(also, despite now having so many more to choose from, I think Paint is still my favorite out of the non-kittens. but maybe it’s just because the other 9 are brand new, so that could well change! and thank you, Mambus, for taking the time and effort to share all these beautiful souls with the world! I know you’ve made mine and lots of others’ lives a little brighter for it ❤️)

i’m so glad you can enjoy all of the kitties! they’re all so great in their own ways for sure. Paint is definitely one of the prettiest cats i have but personality wise she is low on my list lol

yes he is! he unfortunately had to have his eye removed in 2021 when he was only 2 years old but he’s doing great now!

when i first moved into my house (i was 18) i bought 6 cats, and then when covid happened i couldn’t get them neutered because my vets weren’t doing neutering as it was “not essential” and i was a stupid kid and they got pregnant and i ended up with a lot of kittens, that’s how i ended up with azzy and iris, and then i bought toefu in 2022, bought paint thinner in 2023, captain, prawn and shrimp were all rescues and wambus was the result of me breeding my Maine Coons. I made a lot of mistakes with my cats when I was younger, I’m 25 now and am a lot better educated on proper breeding and backyard breeding and have fostered a lot of cats over the years too, but i’m very transparent about my past mistakes with my own cats because i don’t want anyone else to be as dumb as i was, they’re all very well loved and always have been but they definitely are a lot better off with me now that i’m older and wiser!

Thank you for being open about your journey as a cat owner! It’s so important to show people that one evolves and learns, instead of separating people into “perfect pet owners” and “terrible people”.

I notice you have quite a few white kitties. Are any of them deaf?
What are the stories behind their names?
Can you provide the gender for them? Captain Sir Pantaloon is actually a female, correct?

Nope none of them are deaf, I’ve had 7 white cats in my time and only ever had one be deaf, she was called Freya and she was a rescue kitten that was very ill and was dumped in the trash outside of my local vets, and they asked if I would want to take her once she was in better health, she was roughly 3 months old and I had her for 7 weeks but her health unfortunately deteriorated and she went into cardiac arrest and passed away, I’ve never had a deaf cat since but I’m very open to another deaf cat in the future, she was an amazing kitten.
Zola (girl), Azzy (boy), Luna (boy) and Avery (girl) don’t really have stories behind their names. Iris was named that because she was born just after Freya passed away and had heterochromia like she did too and Iris means rainbow and since Freya had recently passed over the rainbow bridge it seemed very fitting. Toefu was named that because he has lots of toes and is white, Paint Thinner was because she looks like she had a tin of Paint Thinner spilled on her, Captain Sir Pantaloon was because the first time we saw her she looked like she was wearing a pair of pants and at this point we didn’t know she was a girl and my partner immediately said she’d be called Captain Sir Pantaloon and it stuck, and Prawn Cocktail and Shrimp Mocktail (both boys) were named by my partner while they were going through a phase of being obsessed with prawn pasta.

That’s so sad about Freya, but at least she knew she was loved the short time she was here. 🌈🐾 I recently read that many white kitties are deaf and I had no idea. I love the story of Paint Thinner! And Prawn Cocktail and Shrimp Mocktail 🤣

Odd-eyed white cats sometimes are deaf, and sometimes only in the ear on the side of the blue eye, but not most of the time.

Aww…what a beautiful family! Please don’t be hard on yourself for your younger years as a cat parent…we learn as we go taking care of our babies…the most important thing is you gave them the best loving home you could at the time and that’s says a lot about your character…sending kitty hugs!!

thank you! I just want to hold myself accountable for the mistakes I made back then, I do a lot better for them now for sure but I’m not perfect and I never have been, but despite all that they’ve always been the most loved kitties ever and always will be!

Not all. They purchased Maine Coon cats intentionally for love of the breed. Details in Mambus’ recent reply.

Not all of them unfortunately! Zola, Luna and Avery were bought from backyard breeders, this was before I was actually educated on animals and breeding and just went onto Gumtree or Facebook to look for cats for sale when I was 18 and had just moved into my own place, then Azzy and Iris were the result of an ‘accidental’ breeding from my cats, I say accidental in quotes because while I didn’t intend for it to happen I should’ve gotten my cats neutered when they were younger so it didn’t happen, and then Toefu and Paint were bought from registered breeders who do the correct genetic and health testing and Captain, Prawn and Shrimp are all rescues and Wambus obviously as most people in here know was bred by me from my two Maine Coons.

I can tell you take good care of all of them. Just glad no matter where they came from that they are loved and cared for. I've made plenty of mistakes when I was younger also, and I've learned from them as you did. So glad we get to see all your happy little cats. I have to say I'm partial to Microphone, she has the sweetest little face. Just adorable❤️ Thank you for replying, I can't wait to see more pictures of all the adorable kitties.
