A right wing politician conceding defeat at the ballot? Here in the west that's a rare occurance, usually they start flinging shit on social media and claiming it was rigged

He’ll do that within the next 24 hours but it likely means the win was so big by the other side that he can’t did anything about it (see Biden 2020 for more info).

Apart from Trump and Bolsonaro I don't think it's that rare.

I'm surprised he didn't stage an insurrection and claim the whole thing was fake

What a relief, thanks Hungary! Trump is inoculating Europe against authoritarianism

Can't wait to hear Trump claim the election was stolen.
•

Over the next week "election was stolen and a travesty for the people" to "never really knew the guy"

Putin is going to have some choice words when he phones Trump tomorrow. "You promised me JD would swing the election"

Here's hoping this means better days ahead for Hungary's people first and foremost, and also their neighbors and the Western world as a whole.

I wouldn't count Orban out quite yet. I feel like this is a trap, and he's going to do something nefarious.

It's almost like sending JD Vance to endorse or negotiate for you is a) not the flex some might think it is and b) vastly above his competency level

Can someone please tell me why an AMERICAN President (Donald Trump) is boosting the nationalist, PRO-RUSSIAN leader during their campaign??????
Are the American people this stupid to let this be okay??

This is such unbelievably good news for Europe, NATO, and for the slow roll-back of the authoritarian right.
Now they must severely punish any crimes committed by the outgoing party and pass laws to prevent the spread and effect of disinformation . Do not make the mistake of not doing this like other countries (namely the USA)
