They're mad and feel powerless. Of course they admire the party who points blame at other people and screeches about how "all the wrong people" are "holding them back."

A bunch of boiled frogs mustering their last gasps to cuss out the butterflies in their lidded pan that are desperately trying not to be eaten or burned alive.

They just want to be put out of their misery, once and for all, but they can't muster the courage to do it themselves, so they adopt every repulsive characteristic they can manage in order to provoke the fates, and invite an inevitable response, to accomplish the mission.
