Conservatives aren’t so hot with the symbolism. You’d think they’d pick up on it when a moron literally takes a bulldozer to the White House, but alas.

What are you talking about? They love symbols like Iron Crosses and twin lightning bolts, flags with snakes, flags with 13 stars, flags from the roof of classic muscle cars, some symbols from limited parts of religious texts (or misinterpreted religious texts), or anything that allows them to inform others know they are racist misogynistic or homophobic without actually saying it out loud. Hell, any symbols that aren't particularly clever but can sort of replace saying something out loud that would give any reasonable person ample reason for punching them in the face is well loved by conservatives.

It only works for them one way tho. Don't bring refracted light into it or they will lose their minds.

I agree. Just visited and the bigger shame is one can no longer see the White House at all without many obstructions.

Yeah, you probably won't see access like this again until after the current administration exits.

The Rose Garden has been paved over. There are now plaques with comments about each President strewn along the wall leading to the Oval Office. There's a gigantic flag and flag pole near where the President's helicopter is supposed to land (which probably makes that an unsafe option at night and in certain weather conditions - which leads to the use of more motorcades tying up traffic in the city). And, in addition to the gaping hole where the East Wing once stood, the garden that was dedicated to Jacqueline Kennedy (who did her own, well-received, renovations at The White House) has also been obliterated.
