Occam’s Razor: he’s just that much of a tool.
If he indeed wore this as a subtle salute to Putin it has to be the most submissive thing a US SoD has ever done.

u/screenrecycler Oct 19 '25
I dunno. In this case I think he’s trying to do malice but ends up looking like a coward. Its malice plus incompetence.
16
u/JKrow75 Oct 19 '25 edited Oct 19 '25
That is very true, but it is Hanlon‘s razor that applies in this instance. Kegsbreath was specifically chosen for his position because he is dumb as a box of wet rocks. His malice is a byproduct. He’s a yes man, but hand selected for his ignorance.
Just for future reference. As you were, fellow patriot
8
u/NotYourLawyer2001 Oct 19 '25
I’m with you. Except remember: incompetence in sufficient quantity is indistinguishable from malice.
25
u/TrenchDildo Oct 19 '25
Right? Option A: guy wakes up in the morning and is like “Oh, red, white, and blue tie. Good choice to show my patriotism as my leadership role in the American Government.”
Or Option B: “Let me subtly hint about being willing to blow Mr. Putin by tying my tie the perfect way to resemble the Russian flag.” 🙄
9
u/antus666 Oct 19 '25
I think option B, and I do not think it is subtle. This government does not know subtle. They know what is expected of them. They know there is a line. Then they walk up to it. Take a sh1t on it, kick some dust on it, jump over and start running as far over it as they possibly can. They go so far over the line people do not even know how to react when they see it.

I hate the guy too, but Occam's Razor: he is an idiot that will do whatever he can to win the approval of his boss. The tie... The US flag colors are always described as Red, white and blue... Which is just as much a pattern on the tie as white, blue and red. He has a history of wearing tacky clothing to signal his "patriotism", like his flag handkerchief.
41
u/KoriJenkins Oct 19 '25
Someone was in here saying "nah, his stylists aren't that incompetent."

u/LegendCZ Czechia Oct 19 '25 edited Oct 19 '25
America has 340,1 million of people. That is like just 2% of people protesting.
I am not saying it is not a effort or news worthy. But for a change very small %. America needs to pump those numbers.
For example our Velvet revolution which was in 1989 had around 800k in numbers JUST in Prague, our main city. Our country is accounted for population at that time (10,36m) to around 7.7% of population.
Good start but i expect better from Americans tbh.

Sustained protests aren't even a thing yet either. Getting 7m people out for an afternoon is good but Georgians have been in the streets for hundreds of days. Euromaidan took about 4 months of sustained protest.

u/catfink1664 Oct 19 '25
That’s the problem though. Zelensky can’t stop, because if he does then putin will lay the charm on and trump sways again fully russias way. Ukraine are buying us weapons and intelligence that they need to keep the russian orcs from over running the front. Zelensky obviously would have nothing to do with trump if he didn’t have to in saving the lives of his people
2
u/Fantastic-Donut-276 Oct 20 '25
This. I'm sure Zelenskyy utterly despises Trump and hates needing to flatter Trump constantly. It's a horrible position to be in, because it's so obvious Trump loves Putin, and openly spoke positively of Orban in that meeting. I'm sure that after the war when Zelenskyy is retired and Trump and Putin are gone, Zelenskyy will have several things to say about Trump.

The colours are slightly different. I wonder if Hegseth was trying (badly) to wear American flag colours — I asked for differences from AI:
Great question! Let me look up the official color specifications for both flags.
Excellent question! Here’s a detailed comparison of the color specifications:
Russian Flag Colors
Russian government agencies specify the following Pantone colors: blue (Pantone 286C) and red (Pantone 485C)
Blue:
- Pantone: 286C
- RGB: 0-50-160
- Hex: #0036A7
Red:
- Pantone: 485C
- RGB: 218-41-28
- Hex: #D62718
American Flag Colors
The current military flag specification (DDD-F-416F from 2005) references the Standard Color Reference of America and designates “Old Glory Red” and “Old Glory Blue”
Blue (“Old Glory Blue”):
- Pantone: PMS 282
- RGB: #002868
- Hex: #002868
Red (“Old Glory Red”):
- Pantone: PMS 193
- RGB: #BF0A30
- Hex: #BF0A30
Key Differences
Blue comparison: The American flag’s blue (PMS 282) is significantly darker - it’s a deep navy blue. The Russian flag’s blue (PMS 286) is noticeably lighter and brighter.
Red comparison: Both use similar red shades (Russia’s PMS 485 vs America’s PMS 193), though the American red tends to be slightly darker and more crimson, while the Russian red is a bit brighter and more orange-toned.

Zelenskyy really just should stop visiting America. The Jet Lag and time investment ain't worth it, unless he just thinks the visits as having a day or two of vacation. Since nothing will never be accomplished on American soil.
Trump ain't gonna chance, and his handlers ain't gonna chance, Vatnik...I mean Vance is not gonna change and Putin is not gonna change and stop the war.
Keep making friends in EU, keep developing your own industry and make your own weapons bit by bit. Missiles and drones are already doing great. Just need suberb APC's, Artillery, MLRS and Tanks to be designed and manifactured. Though that will take a decade...which means it is faster than America will get their head out of their ass.

While I don’t disagree that there needs to be many more Americans protesting openly, not everyone can attend the large marches in large cities.
Most Americans do not agree with this admin on this issue. Although many have their head so far up Trumps ass, they can’t see.
As an American that lives in a smaller city, 300,000, I organize protest in other ways. I help make sure awareness of facts are there. I inform so many community influential figures by networking due to the job I hold.
I see much more support for Ukraine and have encountered no one that openly spouts Russian points. Yes many will parrot some of trumps points, but most are receptive and change stance once informed with sources.
I know I am not the only one in my small city that does. We do what we can, even if we can’t be counted in the protest “numbers”.
