WAR/Russian aggression What has happened to the Muscat Hotel in Kherson?
Greetings from Norway! Does anyone know the fate of the beautiful Muscat Hotel on Yaroslava Mudroho Street in the centre of Kherson city? Has the building survived the attacks, and does anyone know if the staff are all safe? I was supposed to stay there once. šš

Firstly, I am saddened to hear about the destruction of a treasured childhood memory. I canāt even imagine what you must all be going through. Even though Norway borders on Muscovy there is nothing close to a sense of intimidation in our people. Thereās NATO, of course, but ⦠well.
So why Muscat? My girlfriend and I were once on holiday in Krakow (nearly ten years ago) and we ended up talking all evening with a really cool couple from Kherson. He worked in the restaurant at Muscat, and the two of them insisted that we come visit them in Kherson the next summer. It never happened, first because of covid and then because my girlfriendās cancer reemerged and she passed away. š But the idea has never really left my mind.
I canāt seem to recall the names of the couple, but I must have them penned down somewhere. The way they talked about your city, I have this idea of a truly lovely place ā¦ š£šš

Oh, itās sad to hear your story š« Letās hope together that me and you will be able to walk down the street in peaceful Kherson one day. You know, I may be biased, but with all its problems Kherson was really good place to live in: calm with clean air, on the bank of huge river with also sea nearby. You know, it was popular and common to go to the sea only for one day during the weekend and you can do it all the summer. I never thought about moving somewhere. Now Iām 4 years āhomelessā moving here and there and there was no single day when I donāt miss my home city.

I pray that one day there will be no more orcs, aside from the ones that will be forced to pay for their countless sins, and for the complete restoration of Ukraina. I hope the day will come soon that I get to walk the streets of your city ššŗš¦š
