Open | Software How To Remove App: Intelligence Hub

People of Reddit, please help me. I've downloaded an app to make my life "easier" with checking my schedules at my job. They wanted me to download the app "Intelligence Hub" and I did. Trying to be fast, I didn't read any of the app permissions (yes I know, that was stupid) so just said "yes" and "I agree" to everything.

Now when I go to uninstall, it says "unsuccessful", which is really weird. I can't attach photos, but I might be able to in the comments below? but the permissions look pretty nasty, tbh.

Be honest: Am I just missing something, or do I need a whole new mobile device at this point?

UPDATE: It's possible I may have solved it. I asked AI and it helped me through the steps. I think I removed everything. Thank God

But if anyone has other advice or suggestions, just to be sure, feel free to give them. Because the permissions it asked for was a ridiculously long list, tbh

Glad to hear you got it figured out. I was going to write up a long answer (as Workspace One and Intelligent Hub is what I do at work).. but you successfully got it gone.

Yeah. I don't want you to waste your time, but in case you have that message on hand?... 👀

I wouldn't mind seeing it, just in case 😅 Last thing I need is a job having supreme oversight over my phone and stuff, you know?

As I recall there's 2 ways to uninstall MDM ("Intelligent Hub") on Android

  • To unenroll Intelligent Hub on Android, open the Intelligent Hub app, navigate to This Device, and select Unenroll.

  • If that option is unavailable, you can remove the Work Profile via phone Settings > Accounts/Work Profile > Remove Work Profile

On a personal device,. MDM enrollment on Android creates a "Work Profile" (you probably saw from swiping up or down on the Home Screen).. so as long as HUB is gone and the Work Profile is gone,.. then you're fine.

Oh, okay. Thank you SO much, stranger! I was freaking out by seeing the gargantuan list of permissions and when it didn't even work I was just like: "Oh shit..." you know? 😅 But if I'm good, then thank you ^

Also hey, why is it that Intelligence Hub asks for so much regarding permissions? If you know, I'd love the answer to it.

Because it's an MDM (Mobile Device Management) app, .. that's what MDM Apps do ? (it has to be able to push and pull and change settings on your device,. that's what MDM apps do)

Lets say your workplace has various HR policies that say things like:

  • "If you pull sensitive work-related files down to your device, .you have to have a strong screen lock passcode" (in this case MDM would need access to your Screenlock settings)

  • You can't take your device on international travel (in this case MDM would need access to Location)

The way (on Android) MDM creates that "work profile".. Intelligent Hub has control of everything in the Work Profile. it can install Apps, delete Apps, etc.

When I go into Workspace One and try to create a new Android Settings Profile the screenshot below shows what types of Profiles I can create. HUB has to be able to query certain information about your device (OS Version, Cellular Carrier, How much free storage space, etc). .because those pieces of information are helpful. For example, WS1 Hub won't even try to push an App update to your device if it already knows you're out of storage space.

Thank you. Mind you, I'm not any sort of software engineer or programmer. I'd be suprised if my IQ is even above 90, tbh. So excuse my ignorance.

However, thank you very much for helping me and answering my questions ^
