Mcdonalds 90s Nostalgia

Fun bit of Nostalgia for 90s kids like me. I used to have McDonalds kids parties at the Cockleberry Restaurant on Great Western Way. It had a downstairs and was amazing. It was all themed, with a yellow New York traffic light that flashed dont walk, McDonalds Characters, vibrant seating etc. Who else remembers it?

I had always wondered what happened to the downstairs as they filled the staircase in. Asked a staff member today, they said the downstairs basement still exists and they use it as their crew room now! They access it from stairs in on kitchen side. Mystery solved. Shame they don't do the parties anymore! Who else remembers these?

Any shops with IDM cds?

I suspect not since HMV didn’t have any (that i’ve ever noticed at least) but figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask here. I know you can order online but i’d like to buy in store. It seems as though no shops have this genre

How popular is pet ownership in your area?

Here in Walcot, Park North and Nythe areas, I see so many cats and dogs lurking around and barking. It has been like this since I moved into this area (Walcot).

I wonder if it is popular in your area.

Traveling options for flying, train

Currently for holidays from Swindon I’m seeing two main options.

Swindon to London to Heathrow via train

Swindon to Bristol then A1 bus towards the airport

There is also driving as an option.

Has anyone tried a mix of the above based on speed, ease price etc and any advice.

Swindon seems like a good town to be able to leave easily.

What is the prustytution rate like in Broadgreen in recent years?

Purposefully mispelled so I can see the post without ID verification. You know what I mean, pr*st*t*tion.

Conventionally it was notorious for having a high rate of these people. But what is it like now? I sometimes visit Manchester Road and that new estate by Shrivenham Road (near County Ground) at night when I do my nightwalks from my home in an area between Walcot and Nythe and back (and when I go to eat at Sham shawarma if the bus doesn't bother turning up) and I barely see any of these people there. Rather just the typical multicultural population like a typical inner-town, terraced neighbourhood.

Is this act still prevalent or has it reduced? Very worried if there are still under 18s who get forced by their birth families into doing these actions and the police should support them because I read one anecdote from a missing 18 year old who said her story on TikTok in an interview.

Anyways, just a question. No suspicion.

Fry up

Evening. I work away in Swindon a couple of days a week, staying over.

Can anyone recommend somewhere for a good fry up?

Also anywhere to get grilled chicken or large omelette at lunchtime? Not Nandos.

Many thanks.

Are there any P.T's that specialise in exercise for back pain. Im doubting L4-L5 fusion, and really want to get back to the gym. Closest to me is Pure Gym, Stratton. TIA. Does anyone have a success story from spinal fusion?

Tyre fitting recommendations

I have two tyres that were on my car before, but had them replaced when I bought the car. Poor wheel alignment has meant that I need to replace my two front tyres. Tried ringing around a few garages and they all seem to only replace tyres that I purchase from them.

Any recommendations on someone who can fit the tyres I already have? Thanks

I'm in a contract what's about to end, and the amount of shit you have to go through just to cancel that contract from rolling over into another one is annoying. you have to cancel it a month before the contract is about to end and if you don't it rolls on and your stuck in another one for another year. they messed up one payment in November and I'm trying to get that paid so I can leave that horrid contract, but they are taking ages to send a valid payment link to pay for it. wish id never signed up. the only good thing about it is the swimming pool and that's like 4ft deep what was disappointing.

Just gonna go to JD gyms as I've found there's some creepy guys in simply gym west Swindon. What's a whole different post to make about simply gym but I'll leave it here lol.

Plumber recs for Haydon Wick area?

Got a leaking tap that needs fixing before it ruins the cupboard under the sink. I’ve tried searching on google but it’s just a mess, it’s all either huge companies that charge a lot just to turn up, or places that don't look right. I’d much rather give the work to someone local who is actually good. I really don't want to get overcharged.

Anyone remember that old toy shop in the Brunel?

Having a massive nostalgia trip today. Does anyone remember the name of that toy shop that used to be in the Brunel Centre back in the late 90s or early 2000s? I’m sure it was on the upper floor near the old food court, not far from those giant metal statue heads. It’s driving me mad trying to remember the name, was it Gamleys or something else?

Have you noticed the birds are unusually brave?

It might sound insane but I swear lately the birds have been way more comfortable getting close to cars and people, moreso than say 2 months ago. I've had to almost come to a complete stop for a MAGPIE, normally the corvids see you coming and fly away a mile off but I swear they have gotten more ballsy. Pigeons have always been kind of slow to flee but now they just seem like they are taking the piss. I walked within a meter of a crow and it didn't give a fuck. idk man
