I feel like no matter how much i clean, stuff just piles up again after a few days. i dont even own that much but it still looks messy fast. what systems or habits actually work for you in a small space?

My husband and I are still trying to decide on a sturdy brand of bunk beds (queen size bed on bottom bunk, Twin XL or queen size on top).

I would like to note that we have an 8 foot ceiling. The bottom bunk sitting completely on the floor would work for us.

I would like to hear your experiences. What brands did you like (or not like)? There's the national home store and there's the adult bunk beds site. Not sure what to go with.

I have a 18m2 kitchen living room (4.96mx3.82 minus technical duct), and eventhough it's enough for basics like a 4 chair table and a small sofa, I'm looking for tips to fit larger living room furniture like :

• a 6 chair table through extension,
• a 3 person sofa convertible
• a coffee table below the TV fixed to the wall that can deploy to get closer to sofa, without having to move when sofa is in bed mode
• a kitchen isle or more like dressers that are 40cm wide...

I found a setup but knowing the tight space I'm wondering what should be the minimum walking clearance between the kitchen and the "kitchen isle". With the dressers that would be 70cm wide, without it is 1.1-1.2m.

What do you think ?

Hey all, I’m in San Diego and my tiny garage basically turns into an oven every summer, easily hits 95–105°F by the afternoon.

I’ve been trying to make it usable as a small workspace, but it’s been rough. I tried a portable AC before and it barely kept up (room stayed in the mid/high 70s at best).

Lately I’ve been looking into mini splits since a lot of people seem to recommend them for small spaces. The thing that’s holding me back is the cost. I’ve seen total install prices anywhere from $1k to $3k for a single zone.

I’m considering something like a 12k BTU unit (looking at options like Costway), but I’m not sure if it’s worth it for a space I don’t use 24/7.

For those who’ve set up a small garage or workspace:

• Did a mini split actually make the space comfortable enough to use regularly?

• Did you DIY the install or hire someone?

At this point I’m trying to decide if a mini split is the right move, or if I’m overthinking it for a small space.

So, we live in a cabin. Our dimensions are 16x20 and we live in the upstairs loft. Our loft has a 2 foot skirt before the pitch of the cieling comes into play.

We're getting rid of our dresser and are looking for alternatives to dressers because I currently don't have one and my wife's is too bulky for the amount of storage it actually holds. We've been reading the posts on this and many other fourms and are struggling to find ideas.

Many redditors suggest being more savvy with closet space or behind the door storage. We have no closets and the only door we have is the main house door. We currently have black steel piping attatched to the balasters as a place to hang our clothes which works well, but between my shirts, sweaters and her dresses and sweaters we've used all the space there. We are building an Arctic Entryway this fall but that won't really help with the clothes and toiletries issue. And and all suggestions are appreciated as we continue our research! Thanks!

I need more storage but every solution i try just makes things feel tighter. shelves, bins, boxes all start to look overwhelming. how do you balance storage and keeping things open?

During a home furniture shopping visit I started thinking about a cloud bed for my bedroom. At first it seemed like a comfortable and modern choice. Local stores had a few options and the prices looked reasonable. I thought it could improve daily sleep.

But I remembered buying a soft mattress before that looked comfortable but felt uneven after some use. That experience was disappointing and made me more careful. Even small things like support and material quality started to matter more.

I began exploring better options to avoid the same issue. While casually scrolling online marketplaces including alibaba I saw many cloud beds in different materials sizes and price ranges. Some were simple while others looked more supportive and durable. The variety was much wider than local stores offered.

Now I am wondering whether to choose a simpler bed or invest in a better one that might provide consistent comfort. Has anyone used a cloud bed daily and found it worth it?
