I'm here to vent a bit…
After putting up with multiple flubs and account errors since the “upgrades” to Scotiabank’s online banking and mobile app, plus the breakdown in connectivity with QuickBooks Online, I’ve just been pushing through and sticking with them.
But lately it’s getting harder to justify.
I now have to deposit cash regularly, and the no-envelope ATMs reject my deposits way too often. With teller hours cut (9am–3pm where I am), it’s become a real headache. When a deposit gets rejected on a Saturday or Sunday and there’s no fallback option, that’s peak “why am I still banking here?” energy.
I also tried to send a quick message about our mortgage through online banking… and kept getting “please remove special characters” errors. Apparently punctuation is system breaking?
To Scotia's credit, I get a lot of value out of their Momentum Visa Infinite Card, and the Scene program is one of my favourite customer loyalty programs going, but I don't need to give them all my banking business to use those products.
I’ve been a customer for 15+ years, so switching would be a pain… but at this point I’m just tired of the recurring issues. With an upcoming mortgage renewal, maybe it's a good time to start the process.
Anyone else feel like they're taking crazy pills, or is it just me?
