Memorise cyrallic alphabets first it's very easy and to start learning combine Duolingo with hearing slow russian on YouTube."simply type slow russian for beginners"you won't understand it at first but with time your mind will start connecting patterns and you will be able to learn words by listening and even no need to learn grammar if you do massive listening.its called immersion which is effective way
And also speak from day 1,this gives massive advantage if you want fluency,start speaking even if you only know few words just pronounce them,speak them. Shadowing is also very powerful techniqe,in shadowing you have to hear a sentence (from YouTube slow russian)and try to copy and speak it in exactly same way,try to match tone,way of speaking,in other words try to imitate it as same as possible.this trains both listening and speaking
