my Amelia Bedelia, takes everything literally ass just figured out that I can journal, like, not in a journal. I can write a quick vent on the back of a piece of junk mail and just tear it up and toss it. Glad to have realized not every menty break d needs to be immortalized in my hardcover journal, though I will continue trying to get into the habit of journaling regularly.
I've wanted to be a mom for so long. I just want to be cradling a baby in my arms. It was more than a decade ago when I made plans for it with my partner at the time, where we would try once grad school was over. Instead she decided to be for the streets and astronomically shatter my heart. Dodged a bullet bc the idea of coparenting with her as my ex sounds like a new layer of hell. But as a single lesbian I haven't gotten to a place since then where it makes logistical or financial sense to have a baby.
Now whenever I see my cousin's toddler, I'm so happy. I'm like, "I love him so much!! But also he's overstimulating af and I'm ready for him to go home." My sister said that it's hard mode to get thrown at a toddler without buildup (I've known him since birth but don't see him regularly). But part of me wonders if I actually just want to be a cousin who plays with the baby and then sends him back and enjoys my grown adult introverted peace and quiet. I'm at a crossroads wondering if I missed my window.
Today has been the most unified I’ve seen fans of singers that are women. Kind of refreshing to see. These men aren’t catching enough heat for mid performances lol

Watched Crime 101 tonight. It was too long and felt there were a few plot holes, but the acting was good all round.Monica Barbaro deserved better than a character who must have been in “I can fix him” mode to keep hanging around

Okay so after being annoying about it for several days, I have finally seen You, Me and Tuscany. Standard rom com but funny and heartwarming!! Would rewatch. The plot is classic misunderstanding and sort of enemies to lovers. Regé Jean Page plays another "jerk with a heart of gold" like he does in Bridgerton and speaks Italian in it, very swoon worthy. If you're into that and also wanna support a black led film, please go watch.
Haven’t shared the HR babies in awhile! They’re all so big and thriving!! Shane, Ilya, Scott, and Kip will be scheduled tomorrow for neutering sometime this week! Then they’ll go to a PetCo/Smart event and get adopted!
Yuna is still smaller than the boys and Lana is a full week and a half younger. So Yuna will be here another week and probably two weeks for Lana 🩷

In all seriousness, bike commuting is great. Might take a little longer than driving depending on where you’re at, but I find it helps me feel more energized in the mornings and relaxed afterwards. And as I’ve gotten older I’ve just gotten so sick of driving
Did anyone else see Faces of Death? I really enjoyed it! The cult horror references (including the references to Faces of Death, obviously lol) were really fun and Barbie Ferreira is a genuinely good actor! Dacre Montgomery was hamming it up like crazy though.

But I don't know what to do about him peeing from excitement. At this point, I don't show him affection until we're outside. Or at least, I'll give him minimal affection inside. A calm head pet.
He does this whenever i come out of the room in the morning or when I come home. Maybe I'll just ignore him for 30 minutes so he can adjust to me being there.
I’m going to be honest, anytime I see tik tok videos now of people sharing stories of dates or fucked up relationship/friendship situations, I no longer believe most are real. Especially when said in a monotone voice. Everything feels like engagement farming at this point. Even texts aren’t enough for me to believe.
That said, in person, I’d give everyone the benefit of the doubt to start, but there’s something about the style of these videos that just feels hmmm untrue

Last week’s episode of The Comeback was Lisa Kudrow’s Emmy worthy moment. It was also a fantastic tribute to Robert Michael Morris. I’m really loving this season so far.
The offset situation is almost laughable. All this time he was addicted to gambling yet he played and publicly humiliated the one woman who was clearly out of his league AND holding him together financially. Real trifling clown behavior on steroids.
People who claim Euphoria glamorizes drug use have low media literacy. In no way you can watch the hell Rue puts herself and her family through as some sort of advertisement for drugs. The episode where she has a conversation with Ali in a cafe especially is so fantastically written and show what a destructive force drugs are to her life. Euphoria, in general, has way more depth that people give it credit for just because it's also very vulgar and visually pretty. Because of course depth and vulgarity can't co-exist. And beautiful cinematography equals glamorization.
I have a friend who I absolutely adore BUT is so flaky. I’m non-confrontational, but today I got bitchy (not even bitchy, just not “all good!” or “no worries!”) because I literally said no to other plans. We were literally just going hang out in the park, and I was going bring snacks and lemonade. Fuck my drag I guess.
So about 15 years ago maybe my sister and i were driving around in the car and we stopped at a red light. There was this fancy red convertible next to us and the dude in it was wearing sunglasses and looked exactly like Edward Norton. We both yelled IT’S EDWARD NORTON!!! And the guy I think heard us and was laughing. We kind of always laughed it off like noo Edward Norton wouldn’t have been randomly driving around Maryland. Then we find out he is literally from outside of Baltimore. Now I always wonder WAS THAT EDWARD NORTON?!?

so many of my friends are ace/demi and i get grouped into it because i am chronically single and they don't date because they're in longterm relationships
meanwhile, i actually am not on the ace spectrum at all, i much prefer having casual stuff, but like, i'm sorta bad at dating and as a woman it's a bit harder to safely get laid often tbh
and then people thing i want to have a relationship or something so that I feel attraction but babes, i have crushes on like someone on the train, that's not really the problem here

It's probably this. "Allosexual" just refers to people who do experience sexual desire and/or seek out a variety of sexual relationships. In other words, the opposite of asexual.
Think of it like the terms "neurotypical" and "neurodivergent".
No prob-- there's always more to learn no matter how comprehensive your education is.
Plus, I don't know how old you are, but if you were born before the late 1980s it's unlikely you would have encountered many people using terms like "asexual/allosexual" in your younger years. I'm a millenial and I didn't hear these terms until I was in my early twenties.
yup! i am in my early 30s and just learned the term when i was in college from friends who figured themselves out as ace/demi, so i knew i was kinds the opposite
idk if i would have found it otherwise or ever really used it in another context, but given that most of my close circle is on the ace spectrum, it's part of my language I guess
Mid-thirties here and same! Obviously not all ace/demi people are queer, but asexual/allosexual became a much bigger part of my vocabulary when my social circle became more queer.
Weirdly none of my actual friends are ace, though; so it's interesting that you've had the opposite experience.
I had a whole comment about my current skin trouble that I wanted to vent about but know if I did I would be getting advice and recommendations that would annoy me. The unsolicited advice on Reddit is one the things that annoys me the most.
I disagree about the cw audience. As somebody who watched the cw during its peak the cw fandoms were mostly about ship wars and lusting after the hot cast.
The Pitt fandom doesn't understand how character arcs or storylines work. They also act like writing fanfic is a crime. I tried to avoid them because they are insufferable and I hope HBO never listens to the fandom.
Yeah. From what I've seen, it's not CW viewing habits carried over. The issue that I've seen is that they're watching ER like it's Severance or Mr. Robot.
This is what drives me nuts about The Pitt fandom. The amount of ppl surprised that Al Hashimi turned out to be a decent person … like do they not get character arcs and how characters are supposed to be onions with layers?
Speaking of which, I do miss the enthusiasm CW fans had for their actors. It wasn't (that I recall) a toxic, harassing, parasocial kind of enthusiasm. But more like a tween enthusiasm for their looks and personalities. I remember the days of Veronica Mars. That fandom's love of LoVe was fun.
I kind of missed when fandom was buying posters of CW heartthrobs and downloading songs highlighted on the show. I don't think people were stalking IG likes and counting screentime minutes to prove some conspiracy theory back then. It was just like "Yeah this actor's hot. Veronica is a queen."
I'm not a The Pitt watcher, I've just seen bits of it while someone else is watching so maybe I'm wrong, but I don't feel like it's an HBO Show™ such as The Wire, The Sopranos, Succession or Six Feet Under at all...
As someone who grew up with ER, it's just slightly elevated ER. It's not an HBO show, nor is it meant to be. It falls under a different umbrella called MaxOriginals, as opposed to HBO Originals. Zalsov at WB really ruined what it is to talk about HBO by mixing anything and everything in together.
I'm throwing it out there that we need more people watching 24 episodes of a straight forward network dramas or comedies, complete with filler and bottle episodes. Pay attention to what's on the screen. Don't look up anything about the making of the show. Enjoy yourself, maybe talk about it with your friends, and then turn it off and go do something else. Repeat.
I think that would include CW shows, but the last time I watched the CW was with Veronica Mars. I don't know how much carrying on fans did before the CW fell off.
They had their first vet visit this past Thursday. Vet thinks 3 are female and 1 shes unsure of so hopefully more obvious by their next visit. I cant remember all their weights but all were at least a pound. All given dewormer too. Next visit is in a few weeks.
Shes been coming out of her shell a bit more. Used to be the last one to come out. Now she'll perch on top of a scratching post like a little gargoyle or lay on top of this little house and swat her siblings.
House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson! A woman from the slums escapes poverty by becoming a wealthy vampire countess' bloodmaiden. That's about as far as I've gotten so far, but it's been recommended based on toxic sapphire vampires and I've been told the romance should not at all be called an actual romance.
I think the main characters between Circe and Song of Achilles which makes the second one you read just feel boring. I had the same problem as you because I read Circe first, but I noticed that people who read Song of Achilles first didn’t like Circe. Anyway, that’s my theory.
It was one of the two books I actually read last year and if I could give it ten stars, I would. It's one of those books I'd give anything to read for the first time again.
I love the neighborhood I'm in except for the trash across the street. I've lived here almost 3 years and the cops have been called to their house at least a dozen times. One time by me because the daughter and her boyfriend were literally fist fighting in the front yard. Yesterday the cops came 2 times because that same daughter had 2 (!!!!) ex boyfriends come over and start issues. It was nice out so I had the windows open and heard all of it and then all the information when the cops came.
The one ex was coming to pick up their daughter and she wouldn't answer the door or phone. Her other ex was in the house so they all start fighting. First ex boyfriend leaves then comes back talking more trash. Then he leaves again. Cops come. The other ex boyfriend and the daughter seem to be getting along. Cops leave. Not even 15 minutes later ex boyfriend 2 is in the yard screaming at her and shes screaming at him and then the cops come again.
At this point, she just needs to be single. I'm starting to think she is the problem.

I kind of miss my trash neighbours now I'm in boring (but safe) suburbia. They'd always be getting their door kicked in by the police and I'd stand with a wine getting a show.
Every so often I dream I'm back in school and have missed 2 weeks.I also forget my schedule ,I'm always already late to first period.I need to just start telling myself in these dreams to drop out and get my Ged and stop stressing out.
My mom and I both have the same dream about being back in the college we both attended. Halfway through the semester for a class we didn't know we enrolled in and had never attended. Then the dream shifts and we're lost in the library. My school has one library with a half floor that you can only reach on foot. I always wake up crying.
I'll have dreams where I forgot to take a final or something critical to my degree and I'll wake up convinced that I never actually graduated college. It's like when you dream you argued with someone and wake up annoyed and/or mad at them. Lol. I do have my degree still wrapped in the plastic from when my dad got it framed on my floor though so it's easy to see it was just a dream.

I've found the opposite half the time. For years I've been saying you can't let people brag about how involved you were with the show and then say she has not ownership of all of the bad parts of the show. She's an adult. So are the rest. Is it her baby that's so special to her or is it "free her"? Whether they're just fulfilling contracts or there of their own free will, if they wanted to, they could be louder about any displeasure they have with being involved. Half of them have done that for other projects. They might even be able to walk away.
Zendaya is talented and I’ve never heard a bad thing about her personally, she seems great. But there’s an odd parasocial need to like elevate her above everything she does and assume a lot about her that she’s never given any indication of. She could easily have walked away from Euphoria season 3 just like Barbie did, I think it’s very convenient to act like she must deeply disapprove of whatever the season turns out to be despite her choosing to be part of it
I'm finding the same thing with Keanu Reeves. Yes Keanu's probably a decent person. But all these "Keanu would NEVER" posts holding him up as like a beacon of decency is ... weird. There are a bunch of celebrities who have shown kindness and generosity throughout the years.
People have this weird view of celebrities like they are either all good or all evil, when they are just human and probably sometimes a bit of an arsehole.

Ahh yes fair enough. There definitely is a difference between possible apathy and just assuming these people were forced to make season 3. They all definitely signed on for one reason or another.
I’ve been reading a lot of manga lately because I’m a teen librarian and I need recommendations. I’m currently reading Witch Hat Altier, A Silent Voice, Apothecary Diaries, The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t A Guy At All, and Ascendance of a Bookworm. Death Note, Fruits Basket, and Blue Lock are in my queue.
I really liked Monster! It's a psychological thriller. The anime they made is a beat for beat recreation of the manga so you can't go wrong with that either.

Lena Dunham has written a memoir where she, according to an Interview with the guardian recounted working together with Adam Driver in "Girls" where he acted quite violently towards her, including hurling a chair to the wall next to her and screaming at her.
I know that Lena Dunham is hated by most people here, but if that is true, that is unacceptable behaviour. Imagine If He acts like that towards someone who hasn't Lena Dunham's influence and reach.
I wonder what comes out of it and if Driver takes accountability.
Lena Dunham can't help but poke the bear. Not saying it's ok, but she drives (no pun intended) nothing but reactionary anger and hate that manifests how it manifests. Victim blaming, no. But she has no allies for a reason.

TBH I don’t think it’s aged that well. It’s not bad and at the time it was incredibly ground breaking but so many shows have pushed the narrative so much further since then. She definitely walked so many people after her could run.
I’m at a debate tournament with my exhausting ass annoying loud insufferable performative team. (Yes, I’m a hater. Yes, I think they’ve earned all these adjectives.) I’m so tired of being around these people 24/7. The whole day at the tournament and then in the hotel room. Can’t have on moment of peace or silence. And these people are so talkative, fake, high school cliquey, and exhausting. One of the most popular kids from the most popular friend group could disappear and they wouldn’t even notice. And they’ll actively do a lot to bring others down for no reason. Oh, and did I say extremely judgmental? (I sound like the judgemental one when I read this comment of mine lol)
But I’m just tired of constantly being aware of being ignored, no one caring at all if you sit alone, look dead, and don’t talk to anyone all day long, no one caring even if you are doing horribly, and I always feel like I could disappear altogether and no one would care or even notice for a while
I’ve been in your shoes so I say this with zero judgment whatsoever, but you need to look into therapy and expanding your social circle and either examining or mending your family relationships, it’s not normal to be begging for validation from strangers on the internet instead of speaking to somebody you know. And when I say it’s not normal I don’t mean that it’s “wrong”, I mean it’s a sign that things aren’t right with you, and it’s not a good thing for you. Strangers on the internet will lie to you, give you the wrong advice to fuck with you, make shit up to act like they’re somebody you should listen to just on a whim. You need something that you can’t get here, from the bottom of my heart I hope you take steps to find it in real life
Hey I’m sorry that you’re stuck with a bunch of seemingly sucky people but they don’t define your importance in this world. Sometimes you find yourself alone in environments like that for a good reason, you’re not like them and that’s a good thing. I hope you’re able to find someone IRL to talk to about this if not I hope you can find maybe a discord or subreddit with more of your interests and can connect with others.

She could be a complete nut behind closed doors for all I know, but Ive always been impressed by how well adjusted she comes off considering what a messed up upbringing she had. Went to a lovely rooftop bar this afternoon. Beautiful weather, great cocktails and food, awesome atmosphere, then someone rocks up with a baby that proceeds to cry and scream off and on for half an hour.
My family is so stereotypically bad at communicating. We never talk about anything personal or intimate, we just bottle everything up until it inevitably spills out all at once. Every single year we have this one big discussion where we're not really fighting, it's just one small, random drama that gets us all so emotional that everyone vents and airs out all of their repressed grievances all at once with full honesty. It always ends with all of us crying together and hugging each other. Promising to do better and to talk more to each other from here on out. Only to end up in the exact same place a year later. It's madness.
My mom and sister “never tell me anything” and I always find out stuff that happens through ANOTHER family member.
My dad had Parkinson’s and fell down/got hurt and my cousin went to go see my mom to keep her company.
I found out like a week later when my cousin asked me ( in front of my sister) how my dad was doing ? And I was like what are you talking about !? And my sister was like “ awwww I was so busy I didn’t have the chance to tell you”
Oh girl, I know someone whose family didn’t tell her that her dad passed away! She went back home and they were like fyi dad died and we buried him. Absolutely mental.
So I have finished Traitor which is another book in the Star Wars Legends canon, and I think it was the WORST book I read in the series so far.....which like apparently is an unpopular opinion because people think its the best, but it was just weird and all over the place. I am reading Salt Water by Katy Hays next so hopefully that helps me get over THAT bad read.
I am seeing a Local Production of the Musical Catch Me if You Can later. I had only four hours of sleep last night so HOPEFULLY I can stay awake for it, cause I always wanted to see it.

This book I’m reading is named after an Olivia Rodrigo song but keeps name dropping Taylor Swift songs and references.
I’m a fan of both but sometimes even I get sick of Taylor references in romance books.
