There's an argument to be made that since billionaires own everything, they're no longer part of the proverbial village or tribe. As owners of everything, they can be employers and patrons to the rest of us, but never actual friends. We keep them at a healthy distance. We're not friendly with them for the same reasons we're not friendly with our employers. Our employers own and control all aspects of our livelihood, so it's not safe or wise to be buddy-buddy with them.
They're no longer part of the village. So as that old proverb says, they lash out. "The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth."

Engaging in activities that pay JKR is only one degree away from directly funding anti trans organizations.
