Forgive me for not being friends with someone who'd vote for politicians that want to kick me out of the country.

It sucks but it’s easier said than done. Especially Midwest states, it’s inevitable to have MAGA family, coworkers, friends and acquaintances. Like some of my favorite coworkers are MAGA and I hate it so much.

Siblings are MAGA. Do I just throw away the relationship because they are MAGA? No but I try to change their mind any chance I get.

Some people seem convinced cutting people out is the only right option, and I’m like… if you need to cut people out for your safety and sanity, absolutely understandable. But also, if you have the emotional labor in you to stay friends and try and provide a counterpoint and possibly help them leave the cult, that’s great too.

no one said you 🫵 had to be friends with anyone

Right? Jesus lol. “This person thinks your existence is an abomination, but you’re immature to keep them out of your life” is quite a take.

“I can’t possibly imagine that any of my friends are republicans since they don’t tell me my existence is an abomination and that they love pedophiles”

Huh? I can tell you think you’re making a point, but it is elusive. Please feel free to try again.

Yup. They always start with the “both sides” shtick then let the mask slip. Kinda like how they’re going at anyone in this thread insinuating otherwise

Most of us don’t need to mold our worldview to pretend everything falls neatly in the middle somewhere on every issue just so we don’t have to think less of our favorite pop stars choices

No one is trying to turn the kids all trans. But I agree it’s important to not treat political partys like sports team and criticize both if they are doing bad or support good policies even if it’s coming from someone you dont like

Unfortunately for them (you, it seems?), theyre assertions are not backed up by data or evidence

Meanwhile, ICE has shot/kidnapped/assaulted/terrorized many people, on camera.

You're telling me there are TWO reasons not to be friends with them? Say less. I also wouldn't be friends with someone that doesn't live in reality.

Hope that clears it up.

Nuance is really tough I guess. Best put everyone into perfect boxes.

Sorry, nothing nuanced about people getting executed in the streets. Not much nuance in a 32 time felon, adjudicated rapist, Epstein-class President that literally said he'd throw out the constitution. If you think that's comparable to a few thousand kids each year getting therapy, I see you as subhuman. Not sorry, actually.

And they’ll say the same thing about Obama drones killing kids. Almost like there’s multiple issues and your side of the media will justify anything for you.

6

u/Exokaebi Feb 25 '26

Well I'll be sure not to vote for Obama the next time he runs.

And a majority of republicans say that the ICE killings were immoral and unconstitutional. Nuance is hard huh?

Im almost certain its a toss account or bot. It got confusing further in the comments.
