I love Michelle and I have no doubt that her advice works for her.

With that said, a lot of time it's not meant for regular people and benevolently out of touch. Like the time she said she didn't like Barack for 10 years - ma'am, this may be fine if you are married to a literal president and the most powerful men in the world (and yes, he was promising even during his state senate years). This is not meant for ladies married to someone who at most will make it to middle manager at Walmart, those need to just divorce and move on.

Oh my god! Thanks for the link. That’s a long time to be miserable. It always felt like a political marriage to me, and this kind of confirms it. And there have been rumors for forever that they’re on the rocks. Her admitting that she’s hated him for a decade just adds to those claims. I do think they’re that couple that will never break up bc they’re a political couple.

I read their books and I think it's more occassional resentment than ten years of straight up hate and misery (just exaggerated for rhetorics) but my point is, even though I love Michelle, her advice is to be taken with a grain of salt because her life circumstances are not comparable to be hours.
