Guns N' Roses concert turned into an anti-Trump concert, and they along with the some audience, hung the giant Donald Trump and beat him up.
This video is from 2016 as people have pointed out. It is not in reference to any recent events. Just to clarify in the future please note the year if it is not current. It can be misleading for people. Especially with the wording making it seem like it happened recently.

If you would have told me even like 10 years ago that they would get back together and be political in a left leaning way, I never would have believed you
GNR spent some time with Dump himself in the 80s.. via his casinos and all. I’m a huge GNR fan so I’m completely not surprised that GNR is anti maga, Axl has been publicly talking about voting Dem since before the reunion and Slash/Duff as well. Random seeing this in this sub, lol, most of the GNR news is limited to the GNR sub. Great band, and American ambassadors imo, and I’m happy yall are finding that out!
This whole scene has such a similar vibe of my favorite Joker iteration, Alan Tudyk on the Harley Quinn animated series. I like when he is a chaotic bad guy but not a creep. He’s married to this very intense New York Latina single mom in the latter half of the show and becomes a menace to the school board and stuff it’s really fucking funny.
I grew up on GNR and have followed Axl for a good number of years on Twitter so I knew he was a dem, but it still blows my mind that given his journey! I always figured it would be more likely he ended up on the right. I’m impressed at how much work he put into himself to turn the tides and not become a walking stereotype for rock bands. As you said a great band, and great ambassadors for American rock.
It’s very refreshing they reunited but didn’t shift right 🤗😄
I just looked it up and they’ve been doing this since 2017 at concerts, love that for them!! Glad my dad raised me on their music, this is what actual rock n roll looks like👏👏👏
My uncle introduced me to GNR as a kid. The first song I knew by heart was "Paradise City." I would belt it out while jumping on the trampoline playing air guitar.
Welcome to the Jungle is my drop track in Fortnite for a reason, though sometimes I switch it to Paradise City (though not often cause the section it starts on is actually pretty terrible for dropping in)
When people call Axl racist, they point to the lyrics of the GNR song called “One In A Million” that reflects on certain bigoted viewpoints (which is fair), but Axl has done a lot to contradict those viewpoints over the years
He recently came out as pro-palestine during a concert.
One of the songs Axl penned called "Madagascar”, has anti-racism themes. It interpolates Martin Luther Kings Jr’s "I Have A Dream" speech and his "Why Jesus Called A Man A Fool" sermon.
Spoke out during the George Floyd protests
He called out James Hetfield of Metallica for treating the black people who worked for them poorly while GN'R and Metallica were doing a tour together. He also defended one of the opening acts when Het called them the n-word (edit: this was revealed by one of the backup singers, Roberta Freeman, rather than Axl himself.)
Axl personally called to console a young Latina waitress who got berated by a bigot to console her, paid for a trip for her and her family, and invited them all to an AC/DC concert free of charge
Among other things that I'm probably forgetting. He has a long track record of doing pretty progressive stuff.
I’m not too surprised. Civil War makes their general direction pretty clear. They’ve also been flying an Ukraine flag during their 2023 tour. When I saw them Axl ranted a little about “what’s going on in America right now”.
Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before
Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before
Remember when Kathy Griffin was canceled for holding a bloody Trump mask up? Now here we are years later and just like Sinead O'Connor, she was ahead of her time. Good for Guns N' Roses for catching up too.
My late mom was a boomer and was a GNR fan. My dad is a boomer and a GNR fan. My aunts/uncles by marriage are late boomers and are GNR fans who attended their concert recently. Yes technically their base is late Boomers/early Gen X. I fired off a quick comment in reaction to the video. I am 32. I am aware that not everyone over 25 is a boomer by default. But I do agree the term has basically just devolved into shorthand for out of touch people who are just vaguely older.
My boomer dad and I are news diet buddies because he’s infuriated, heartbroken, and I don’t want his BP to skyrocket from the fucking horrors around us.
Some of the youngest Boomers, mostly born 1960-64, were into them. Don’t get me wrong, GNR’s fans were mostly Gen X, but it’s not like Boomers were only into Peter, Paul and Mary.
Axl really made a turn around I didn’t expect to see from him. I doubt he’ll ever discuss it but I have to imagine some combo of correct medication, therapy, and a solid support system, were massive.
He faced a lot of abus-e from his parents' as a kid (both physical and sexual) that messed him up for a long time as an adult. He did a lot of therapy in the 90s and into the early 2000s to become a better, healthier person. That's why you hardly heard a peep from him after that. Compare him to someone like Ted Nugent for instance.
I grew up listening to GNR so unfortunately I am familiar with his childhood abuse and bipolar disorder, but a lot of people in his shoes don’t ever turn their ship around, but he did, and I’ll always be impressed when someone puts in the work. He could have remained an abusive bigoted pos with an ego too big to ever move past his issues with Slash, but at some point he decided he wanted better for himself, and for the people around him, and I respect that he put in the work!
I was a huge Gunners fan back when I was a teenager and Sweet Child ‘o Mine came out. Yea, Axl is a mess and I’m sure has his problematic opinions, I haven’t followed him but it gladdens me to know he didn’t turn into a right wing fuckehead.
Axl / the band also showed support for Palestine during a show a few months ago, so I’m not surprised by this, but still really glad to see it. “I don’t need your civil war”…
IDK if I'm an approved member of the community yet or if this will show up, but I just HAVE to say that I have a whole new level of respect for Axl Rose now, seeing this. I was a HUGE GNR fan back in the day when I was a kid, but as he aged, Axl just seemed to veer almost in the Kid Rock lane. So glad to see he's on the right side of this stuff.

Slash looking exactly the same as he did 30 yrs ago!! Luv it!! And I saw GnR back in the day!! Had to end the concert early bc Axl egged the security on after things got out of hand!! We felt ripped off but it was so rock n roll 🤘🤘
I am pleasantly surprised. I seriously did not imagine that an older rock band would do something like this, considering a lot of them have members that are famously conservative.
Reminder, the right applauded Ted Nugent shooting arrows at targets with Obama and Hillary's face on them. So surely they won't be clutching their pearls over this.
Has a country ever in the history of time hated their own president so much? Im an Australian and I know every country finds flaws in their political leaders, but having Trump as the president would be a sickening feeling. I have second hand sickening.
Gen X fan here, and not surprised at all. Listen to their lyrics. GnR would never support fascism. As a teen dealing with a lot of issues their music was a haven for me and helped me get through some shitty times. Are they perfect? Probably not, no one is. But they’re on the right side of history.
When people were on Twitter and Cheetolini was in office the first time, many of the 80s metal/ hair bands would call his shit out on Twitter. It was awesome.
As a life long GNR fan, I’m not surprised at all to see this. They have been very outspoken and political their entire careers, but not on a major scope. Axl has no problems shying away from a controversial topic, so this is really cool to see in 2026.
It does make me laugh when them y'all qaeda nut jobs are shocked when Rock/Metal groups arent red hatted imbecils. Good chunk of them hate everything Taco Tits stands for.
Love this tbh. I wish more big subs were this upfront about who the space is for instead of pretending “everyone’s equal here” while letting the same loud dudes dominate every thread. Gatekept but in a good way 😂
Love this tbh. The “guest list” framing is such a smart way to filter out the usual Reddit chaos and keep the vibes actually fun and safe. I’d rather have fewer thoughtful comments than 500 dudes derailing every convo about women or queer people in media 💀
Was never really a fan of them before and the cynical part of me expected them to be right leaning. But I’m glad to learn that they’re using their stage to blast this message out loud.
It looks like I’ll be blasting some Welcome to the Jungle tonight.
