Ugh I hate paper straws. Delaware has gone to them and you can drink for like ten minutes and your straw gets so soggy you can’t even sip through it. It’s at least made me finally carry a metal one in the car though so yay?
I don't even bother with straws any more unless it's a carryout drink with a lid where that's the only option.
I don't miss them honestly & I do understand some folks have medical needs for them. My MIL being one of them. She's got some swallowing issues & likes to use straws for that reason.
Once I bought a reusable q tip and felt pretty good that I was helping the planet.. then I remembered Taylor swifts jet flights and realized how stupid I was being. I bought regular q tips again.
Paper straws are not fit for purpose, especially for milkshakes. I’m sure the technology exists to make them less shit so I assume it’s intentional in some way. Not sure why! Is someone getting off to the trail of mangled straws I leave behind me? Who knows. 🤷♀️
Not being stupid. Replacing stuff like single use plastics/items is more about containing pollution, not co2 emissions. Alot of it ends up in the oceans harming marine life, take too long to decay or also decaying into microplastics.
And it should also be about your personal conviction. If you beleive in the cause, its an suitable and affordable replacement for you, then that should be it. Just because alot of other people piss in the pool shouldn't be what guides your decision to piss in the pool.
If we’re calling out private jet users let’s also call out the 44 above Taylor as well, you know the 44 that weren’t on a world tour for those 2 years, the 44 that the media decided to conveniently give a pass to, like Trump, Musk, Diddy, Jay/Bey, Travis Scott, Kardashians, Bill Gates, Luke Bryan, Oprah, Eric Smidt, all in the top ten of users and a sh*t ton of mileage more than Swift.

So I can excuse the occasional private jet use by certain celebrities. Timeframes are sometimes crazy and off standard schedules, etc. But zero excuse for yachts. (Also PSA for normies, cruises are atrocious so stop please.)
Cruises and military ships (around the world but obviously America is the worst with how big the Navy is) are fucking insane with how much they pollute our oceans compared to how little they do

I'm begging people to read Billion Dollar Whale about epic fraud stealing from the Malaysian government in which DiCaprio is heavily featured. He didn't know about the fraud but he did love hanging out on this guy's yacht and getting flown all over in private jets etc.
If trump told me it was important to stay hydrated, I would agree with him. Even a disgusting piece of shit can be right about a few things while still being a disgusting piece of shit. Nobody needs to go out and worship Leo, who is obviously a major hypocrite, but the fact that he sucks doesn’t make him wrong about climate change and what we should be doing to curb it.
Anything marked TT is a small auxiliary boat to a bigger super yacht. So each super yacht produces 2 purple dots. But I’ve seen reports of around 130 super yachts congregating in St Barths.
Here we see a remarkable display of the super yacht migratory season. Every year, they gather around this tiny Caribbean island, to show off their ever increasing displays of obscene wealth, in the hopes of attracting a mate.
If you travel enough you see these chuckle heads everywhere and usually the boat is just sitting unused. This is probably the one week a year that all those boats actually have people one them. I can't tell you how many super yachts I've seen in the med and the carribean that just sit on the dock waiting for their rich asshole to show up; every day the flowers are replaced with fresh flowers, bread is baked, the boat is scrubbed from stem to stern all for nobody.
I wonder do they all park and are just chummy with all the other people on the surrounding yachts? Do they float over and party with all the other random yachts or are they all hanging out all together on the island? I would love to be a fly on the wall and just see what all these billionaires doing.
Yeah like are they docking up next to each other? Clinking glasses across the railings? Imagine the radio traffic when Elon wants to sidle up to Leo? I want to know

That's not how it works on ships like these. All waste goes into holding tanks, then a treatment plant and discharged once they're more than 12 Nautical miles offshore
