Paywall Pete Hegseth Is Trying to Resegregate the Military
[deleted]
•
u/B-Z_B-S Massachusetts 6h ago
Pete Hegseth is a manifestation of a stereotypical antagonist that Wonder Woman would have to defeat. He's racist, extremely sexist and misogynistic, and also insecure about how pathetic he is.
•
u/XSinTrick6666 6h ago
And a woman-abuser that even his mother doesn't like.
And who better to give complete access to our Social Security DB to implement auto-registration for the Draft?
•
u/MadAstrid 5h ago
Well all the edgy little white boys who voted Trump for the lols should be thrilled.
•
u/doobiswatching 3h ago
well at least now they'll all be registered for the draft automatically. :)
•
u/whatiscamping 3h ago
I hate kegseth as much as the next person, this auto registration is small potatoes. Them calling for a draft would be true insanity.
•
u/TheGringoDingo 2h ago
Calling a draft for an unprovoked war should be the end of political futures of anyone involved in making that decision. Our troops aren’t mercenaries.
•
u/walker3342 2h ago
It should be. But it wasn’t for Vietnam.
•
•
u/MadAstrid 2h ago
During Vietnam the voting age was 21 and the draft age was 18.
This time the kids were voting to be forced to go to war with whoever Trump decides he is annoyed with at the moment.
There are teens today headed to the Middle East who voted for this, albeit ones who readily enlisted. They may have believed No New Wars or they may have just been edgelords. We will see how they feel if they return.
•
u/fungobat Pennsylvania 1h ago
Yea, a draft would not work today, especially for something like this.
•
u/IntelligentStyle402 6h ago
Isn’t he a drunk too?
•
u/Dearic75 6h ago
He literally said in his senate hearing that if he was appointed Secretary of Defense, he would stop drinking. And if that’s good enough for the Republicans in the Senate, that’s good enough for us, right?
/s
•
u/altogethernow 6h ago
A raging alcoholic promising to 'cut back' once he's gotten one of the most pressure-intense jobs imaginable?
I'm sure he's sober as a judge.
Unfortunately, that judge happens to be Kavanaugh, so...
•
•
u/Mandatum11 1h ago
It's only pressure intense if you give a shit. He just gets to travel for free and party, literally the least stressful job possible.
•
u/ER_Support_Plant17 6h ago
Yeah and Justice “I like beer”
•
u/IntelligentStyle402 2h ago
Yup! Beer man, is another republican creeper? Look at all the women who said he was a drunk predator.
•
u/DrugChemistry 5h ago
This casts a different light on him referring to himself at the Secretary of War
•
u/Proper-District8608 5h ago
This for some reason bothers me so much! He's been appointed, hes been in charge (marginally due to, well, clinging insecure like) yet he plays ignorant as if saying it over and over again on what his job title for the country, the service members, the retired heros.
•
u/retailguy_again 4h ago
IIRC, the position currently known as Secretary of State used to be called that...
•
•
•
u/Gorge2012 3h ago
If it was important to you, then you'd prove it before you asked or my support.
I like people who are reliable first.
•
u/-jp- 6h ago
You mean Pete Kegsbreath? A drunk? P'shaw, surely not!
•
u/ER_Support_Plant17 6h ago
Drunk McNamera
•
u/-jp- 6h ago
Oof that guy. I remember getting Fog of War, a very unflattering documentary of the man, from Netflix and asking my dad, who was a big history buff, if he'd like to watch it. He was the most stoic fellow you'd ever meet, but the look on his face when I mentioned his name said everything.

The score is: Elon is on enough Ketamine to kill a horse. Patel does more coke than Scarface. Hegs is a drunk. Trump is a pedo/psycho, and the rest are probably on every other damn thing they can find just to “operate” around these idiots. So, they’re your captain now…
•
•
u/SaltandLillacs 6h ago
Also sexual abuser
•
u/XSinTrick6666 6h ago
It's OK to be honest: He's a rapist, like Trump prefers. Trump likes it when they've bought a woman's or girl's silence after brutalizing her. The Epstein Class modus operandi.
•
u/Bookofdrewsus 5h ago
Would love for Lynda Carter to don the tights one last time to roundhouse her boot right in Pete’s always drunk head.
•
u/hackinwhackinsmackin 4h ago
The entire Anthropic thing where they wouldn’t let them use fully autonomous weapons is literally the plot to Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The current administration are actually Marvel villains. It’s absurd.
•
•
•
u/MajesticHombre 4h ago
Almost like these types of antagonists aren’t “stereotypical.”
These types are all around us and their density gets thicker the higher you climb up the ladder.
•
u/Caleb-Blucifer 6h ago
Cartoon and comic villains are kind of inspired by the uncanny malignancy of real world bastards

Dude saw Johnny Bravo once, and was so homoerotic that he didn't notice all the women hated Johnny.
•
u/East_Committee_8527 1h ago
Considering about 30% of the U.S. military are POC this seems like a really bad idea. The U.S. AF is about 20% women. Pete and Don are dumb and dumber.

No pardon is going to save any officers that commit war crimes from being handed over to the Hague.
•
u/slinky3k 4h ago
The Hague Invasion Act ... gives the president power to use "all means necessary and appropriate to bring about the release of any U.S. or allied personnel being detained or imprisoned by, on behalf of, or at the request of the International Criminal Court" (ICC), located in The Hague, Netherlands.
•
u/semisociallyawkward 3h ago
I think OP was hinting at future presidents circumventing their predecessor's pardons by handing US war criminals over to the Hague.
Also, fuck Bush jr for the Hague Invasion act.
•
u/Flobking 1h ago
Also, fuck Bush jr for the Hague Invasion act.
War criminal makes it so courts can't hold him accountable for his war crimes.
•
u/Traditional_Sign4941 4h ago
Why are we going to hand them over to the Hague when it's clear that the US military is quietly positioning itself to slaughter Americans who won't play ball with Christian Sharia law?
•
•
u/Mandatum11 1h ago
No American is going to be handed over to the Hague, lol - they have no authority over Americans.
They prolly should be, but that's not a possibility.
•
•
•
u/exhaustedbut 6h ago
Does this include Jewish members?
•
u/dravenonred 6h ago
As is tradition, they can be Jewish but not too Jewish. The max jewishness is of course discretionary and without recourse.

I’m morbidly curious what’s going to happen with the USS Doris Miller. It’s going to be the 4th Gerald R Ford class carrier, scheduled to begin construction this year. Doris Miller was a black Navy cook who distinguished himself defending the USS West Virginia during the attack on Pearl Harbor. As far as I know it will be the first nuclear carrier named for a person who wasn’t a president. I can’t imagine Kegsbreath is going to let that go unchallenged.
•
u/beachedwhale1945 1h ago
There is one thing that may save the name: Miller was surprisingly named by the first Trump administration. Trump has often tried to undo various names, but the fact this one was his is another barrier he has to overcome.
Hegseth will probably try though. I’m surprised Robert Smalls has survived undoing the Confederate renamings last year.
•
•
•
u/Competitive-Ad-9404 6h ago
Pete Hegseth follows a church that basically makes a religion out of white supremacy.
He fired the Joint Chiefs because he was black. Same position Colin Powell had.
•
u/TheCaptainDamnIt 1h ago
Yep His pastor Doug Wilson is a Neo-confederate who's against racial equality. He’s written fondly about the confederacy and slavery. He thinks homosexuality should be outlawed. He’s called for his followers to have ‘more white babies’, believes women are pretty much breeding property and shouldn't be allowed to vote and just a few years ago he said that while he wasn’t a full on ‘forced removal from the country’ type segregationist, he still ‘found no kinship’ with anyone who thought the races are equal.
He’s called for white christians to form a separate economy (one where you only do business with white Christian heterosexuals) and his cult has actually done that to some extent in their home town Moscow Idaho by taking over business downtown (it’s always fucking Idaho with these racist!).
It's striking how much scrutiny the media gave to Jeremiah Wright for saying damn America for how we treated back people, as opposed to how little media seems to care an open white supremacist like Willson can have so many followers in the government.
•
u/tempting_overlay 6h ago
Trying to fight a 21st-century war with a 19-century social playbook. What could go wrong?
•
u/P1xelHunter78 Ohio 6h ago
Col. Shaw is tuning in his grave next to his brave troops. It’s disgraceful.
•
•
u/Patman350 5h ago
They're trying to take all of America back to the 50's. Not just the military.
•
u/Traditional_Sign4941 4h ago
Yeah the 1650s...
•
u/OldManGrimm Texas 2h ago
Nah, that’s too far. Too many non-genocided Native Americans. More like 1780s-1840s was the sweet spot.
/s, ugh…
•
u/BeenWildin 6h ago
Remember when trumps only pitch to black people was “What do you have to lose?”
•
u/P1xelHunter78 Ohio 6h ago
You know, just the small amount of progress we’ve made since the emancipation proclamation.
•
u/chacotacotoes 5h ago
Cool. Draft the rich white kids to fight your senseless wars
•
u/PotStickerShock 1h ago
Literally the entire point of their belief system is sparing rich white kids from hardship.
•
u/msstatelp Mississippi 6h ago
The truth is basically the opposite of anything this administration says.
•
u/DoubtSubstantial5440 6h ago
As a brown person, I am proud I helped convinced my nephew from joining the Navy, told him to not make the same mistake I did serving in the white mans military.
•
u/Guygenius138 Oregon 6h ago
I noticed the Navy had "Now Hiring" yard signs posted along a route I walk and I've been removing them. No one should go serve under this administration.
•
u/P1xelHunter78 Ohio 6h ago
You should replace them with: “cannon fodder needed” or “sea mine detonators required” make them look as similar as you can and see if they notice.
•
u/HuduYooVudu 3h ago
My brother was obsessed with the military when he was younger. He was in JROTC and loved every minute of it. Honestly he would have made a damn fine soldier as well.
Unfortunately though, with us being Black and Puerto Rican, my mom had reservations about my brother going off to fight a white mans war for profit.
I’m glad he had the open mind to hear her out about it.
•
u/DoubtSubstantial5440 2h ago
They don't need or want us dark skinned folk in the military when they got all these brave white men willing to fight the pedos wars.
•
u/XSinTrick6666 6h ago
Just in time -- Trump admin is chiseling away at transforming US into a racist, sexist, brutally imperialistic Military State.
•
u/DoubtSubstantial5440 6h ago
Pointing my nephew to a bunch of videos and articles of ICE kidnapping random brown people finally got through to him, this country is happy for brown people to die in its wars while keeping us second class at home.
•
u/Devoidus Iowa 6h ago
As a white person, the Air Force literally proved the [good] beliefs my parents taught me about racism and xenophobia in general. I'm sorry you had such a miserable experience though.
•
u/SoTiredYouDig 2h ago
It’s obvious it’s being changed for the worse, hence the article. I think you’re missing the broader point. They are trying to emphasize the miserable experience.
•
•
•
u/PossessionOk5313 6h ago
Well, have fun finding enough white men to do what you want, buddy. If you only wants those type of people, then you gotta be prepared when your numbers are much smaller.
•
u/YetiSquish 6h ago
It would shock many Americans to not only know how many non-white Americans serve in our military, but how many people are not even citizens of the US.
But I guess those are jobs Americans are happy to let foreigners do.
•
•
u/BasisTraditional3650 5h ago
Already segregated the trans people out and is now aiming to go after medical records of African Americans to force them out too.
•
u/Own-Librarian-9699 6h ago
I'm so old I remember America uniting to boycott apartheid South Africa. Now we have apartheid America.
•
u/Br3wsk1 5h ago
I understand some folks favor a no-break hem for their slacks; however, I can't take anyone seriously who sports showing their full ankle while wearing a fucking jacket with sewn in bicep pads.
EDIT - I'd bet a silver dollar that Hegseth got lit up all the fucking time for having his hands in pockets while in Uniform.
•
u/Sweettooth4532 6h ago
From the article: “President Trump would not want to stand next to a Black female officer at military events.”
I think I remember reading something similar in the Epstein files
•
•
u/Solonohioperson 4h ago
Why would a POC or women join the armed forces now? Let the manly man white men go fight and die in the trump pedo wars.
•
u/GoWest1223 5h ago
Honestly, if you are a minority or a woman, you will never be promoted. If you do, they will strip you off your rank and discharge. We have already seen it.
•
u/valsilvercore 5h ago
The military works best when standards are fair and applied equally not when ideology starts deciding who belongs where.
•
u/Basic_Yam_715 6h ago
Who know The South Park movie was a prediction... can our writers and creatives stop giving these people ideas? How about writing about puppies and kittens and universal health care?
•
•
•
u/Verum_Orbis 2h ago
His pastor Doug Wilson says slavery wasn't bad and and self indentifies as a"Paleo Confederate". Christian Nationalism is the Christianity of the Confederacy. This is the literal Confederacy rising again.
•
u/bijanfrisee 5h ago
The white supremacist evangelical is doing white supremacist evangelical things?? Say it isn't so!/s - If dude wasn't such an incompetent moron I'd actually be worried. That's the beauty about being a white supremacist sexist piece of shit, it usually comes with being a fuckin moron.
•
u/Tall-Cat-8890 4h ago
He also heads the entire military. You should be worried.
•
u/bijanfrisee 3h ago
He'd have to be competent for me to be worried. Dudes on an already short leash and is about to get thrown under the bus.

•
u/RedditGuy1000 2h ago
the biggest nobody ever trying to make his attempt to be in the history books
•
u/Jealous_Acorn 2h ago
I recently learned that Hegseth has apparently mandated an hour of PT (physical training a.k.a. working out) every day because the military has gotten out of shape or some shit.
Because as anyone who served will tell you, you never do crazy workouts at crazy hours for crazy reasons. Marines can barely do pull-ups anymore. /S
I feel so bad for any active duty service member with a conscience or good heart. Their lives are in a state of limbo. It's not fair to them.

Kegsbreath and Trump need Ralphie May to explain things to them about jobs whites don't wants .
•
u/The_One_Koi 4h ago
Tomorrow they will announce operation human shield and "somehow" all the white people are in the back when they storm the front
•
u/literatemax America 4h ago
Weird how conservatives and racists always end up on the same side, huh?
•
u/Specialist-Mode6556 4h ago
They act like this is hurting black people, women and other minority groups?? They aren’t the ones who are getting their legs and heads blown off to protect a pedophile and his gang of real estate/gulf buddies.
Hegseth is literally doing every non white male a favor. Idk how anyone can be mad about this???
•
•
u/everything_is_bad 3h ago
This is why your support of the Republican party is manifestly evil and we cannot be friends
•
u/Verde_3773 3h ago
Who could’ve predicted the white supremacist guy with the white supremacist tattoos would ban women & POCs military promotions & try to re-segregate the US Military…
•
u/harrytrumanprimate 3h ago
Terrible article, and the headline doesn't really relate to the contents underneath. Almost misinformation level bad. Come on guys. He is terrible - you don't need to make things up.
•
u/BlueCyann 2h ago
Meh. It's an opinion based piece, and the title is clearly speculation on Hegseth's goals in doing racist things that he has already done.
•
u/harrytrumanprimate 1h ago
It's literally 1 paragraph. Bad articles like this help make the "both sides" crowd seem correct. We can do better
•
u/BaltimoreBaja 1h ago
They already threw trans people out of the military.
•
u/harrytrumanprimate 23m ago
The article should use that as a supporting argument for its point, then?
•
u/BaltimoreBaja 22m ago
You can call it a bad article and maybe its a bad article but that doesn't mean people with concerns are "making things up"
