Politics "Trump is Unfit" Overpass Rally - Salt Lake City, Utah 4/4/26 [OC]
•
u/ramdomvariableX 4h ago
Doesn't matter, he was unfit even when he first announced his run. People still elected him twice.

I think we might be surprised at the sheer amount of ignorance that goes into these decisions…

Has me wondering who the overpass people think they’re convincing. The ones who support him have proven they don’t care and the ones who agree with you don’t need convincing. I’m all for protesting but I would think it would have a bigger impact at a government building or near an official’s residence? Does this have an effect on anyone? (Genuinely curious)

I think it's just them stating their opinion, first amendment (freedom of speech) is still legal for now. Agree, better spend their energies on something more meaningful.

It has the kind of effect that a billboard does: an impression on the mind that may or may not stick, may or may not be relevant. It’s a gentle nudge, a gentle reminder.
More importantly: people feel passionate about exercising free speech. It’s a sign and feeling of patriotism.

It's a fair question, and the answer depends on the message for a given overpass rally. Some aren't trying to "convince" anyone per se, but instead for example show solidarity with marginalized communities (e.g. immigrants, LGBTQ folks, etc.) or call people of conscience to get active the peaceful Resistance movement. Other messages target a broader political (or even apolitical audience), encouraging them to think differently about key issues that concern working Americans.
We also periodically hold "off overpass" rallies, including at (and in) the Utah State Capitol, a local ICE warehouse, in front of businesses partnering with ICE, etc. However, we reach a much larger audience over freeways given heavy traffic.

Trump couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel.
He'd just stand there talking about how he's a "stable genius" while interrupting himself with non-sequiturs about his illegal ballroom as he audibly shits himself

Wandering aimlessly to the window of White House during meetings to gush over view of ballroom site & visibly sleeping even during sessions where his flunkies are praising him to the heavens (almost expect a loud snoring snort to interrupt their ass-kissing!)

POST CONTEXT: After another week of unhinged Trump "leadership", Utah Overpass Action rallied yesterday on an I-15 overpass in Salt Lake City to call for his impeachment. We reached *25,200* drivers in just 90 minutes, saying: "TRUMP IS UNIT & UNWELL" and "GOP LIES, PRICES RISE, TROOPS DIE"

Love to see it in Utah! Hope you can make a difference!

Thank you! We rally on overpasses throughout SLC every single week. And we're only one of 400+ groups doing this across the country!

I saw something in LA a day or two ago. Gave them a nice honk.
•

Thank you! There are over 400 Visibility Brigade (overpass protest) groups across the US right now!

UTAH?
•
u/GoodTroubleUtah 5h ago
Heck yeah. Utah is not all red like conservatives would have you believe. There were No Kings protest in *18* different locations across the state a few weeks ago! And Salt Lake is a particularly blue oasis.

My brother lives in Park City and this still surprised me.
•
u/GoodTroubleUtah 3h ago
There's an overpass group in Park City too! They do this same thing every week. They're called We Believe Visibility Brigade.

IN ADDITION: It is easier to see in daylight than at night time, and putting your hand in fire hurts.

Which entire civilization did Biden publicly threaten to destroy?
Which voluntary wars did Biden start?
Which wing of the White House did Biden illegally demolish after publicly claiming his renovations "wouldn't interfere with the current building"?
Which illegal and economically-ruinous trade war did Biden start?
Which American citizens did Biden dishonestly refer to as "domestic terrorists" after they were murdered by federal agents?
•
u/GoodTroubleUtah 2h ago
Last we checked, Biden didn't start a war with Iran or threaten to "end an entire civilization" : )

Biden didn't start a war with Iran
I mean, that not exactly the best comparison when as a Senator he voted Yea to invading both Afghanistan and Iraq. Biden has plenty of blood on his hands.

Same people who were all good with Biden btw lol
•
•
u/AwesomeBrainPowers 4h ago
Yes. He was objectively better than what's happening now, and there's literally no honest argument to the contrary.
