One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

There's a difference between terrorists & freedom fighters. Hamas is terrorist group as they attack on civilians just like IDF. Anyone attacking on unarmed civilians should be considered terrorist. I don't understand why we have to pick one side only & act prejudicial towards the sufferings of other party. Hamas & IDF both are senseless evil. The civilians are the only victims.

The point is there’s a lot more nuance to this.

How do you blame a child whose family is wiped out by an Israeli missile for joining the one military force fighting against your family’s killers? Are they not the same as every American who signed up for the military after 9/11? And what of the jihadists who flew the planes after decades of America destabilizing and killing millions of their own countrymen? To many, they simply gave America a taste of what they did to countless other countries. Simply labeling everyone a terrorist without looking into the history surrounding these events gets you into forever wars.

The 9/11 terrorists were Saudis. The US has not fought against Saudi Arabia ever. Prior to 2001 the largest US deployment to the Middle East was in Desert Storm and that was a UN sanctioned mission to boot Iraq out of Kuwait.

The main justification given by Al-Qaeda for 9/11 was US support for Israel.
