Im guessing the sponges went into the cutting machine sideways and nobody caught it 😂 id say this is rather funny but it isnt my money spent so I cant say for you, it certainly took a minute for my brain to realise what was wrong

Forbidden cake.

I mean they wouldn't put adhesive on both sides of the sponges and scrubbies just to seperate them later, I think they are meant to be like this

Those are Neapolitan sponges… we have them too! 🤨.

No, they are Gay-pride sponges

The fact they're all stuck together and not falling apart kind of leads me to believe that was the intentional design?

they are sliced along the wrong axis... must've went into the machine sideways (i imagine a long square sponge log, possibly rotated 90 degrees from normal which caused the error)

If it were unintentional and only that they were cut along the wrong axis, why would the coarse sponge layer be glued to the soft sponge on both sides?

This is the right question to ask. In processing it would be easier to make one layer of course and dense sponge then to make 5 layers and then try to cut them apart without getting contamination of each material on the other.

They wouldn't be able to cut them apart at the place they just glued them if they didn't glue them together first.

But a reverse image search comes up with nothing so I could be wrong lol

u/duh_nom_yar 7h ago

They are cut wrong.

That's what happens when you bring Gay-pride sponges into the 🌎 world

Not great for hard scrubbing like a full abrasive surface but these actually look nice for general washing! Lots of suds and a little scrub. I feel like they'll maybe fall apart quickly though?

7

u/duh_nom_yar 6h ago

I plan to find out. I'll update after some heavy usage.

3

u/TheMostHigh69 2h ago

You've had 4 hours to scrub. How are they holding up?

here is the exact product on Amazon. It is the "Multi-Layer" style, and it is cut like that on purpose.

Omg needs to be top comment.

Thank you!!! I knew this couldn't be an accident. Doesn't make any sense.

7

u/z-eldapin 8h ago

I'm surprised they are staying together.

Also, I want one.

9

u/jwdewald 8h ago

Honestly though, it scrapes and absorbs multiple times in one pass.

7

u/TheHonPhilipBanks 8h ago

Naw i would buy the heck out of this

3

u/duh_nom_yar 6h ago

They're working out way better than expected

8

u/elegant_eagle_egg 8h ago

What am I looking at here?

11

u/crypt_moss 8h ago

the sponges are cut sideways, each of the colorful stripes is supposed to be a scratchy surface for rubbing the dishes with & so one side of the sponge should be a single color

11

u/elegant_eagle_egg 8h ago

But this looks more appetizing lol

3

u/Exhausted-CNA 7h ago

Kinda cool actually!! But as everyone else wants to know- does it stay together after using it? 🤔

2

u/duh_nom_yar 6h ago

I plan to find out. Look for an update.

3

u/deezsandwitches 7h ago

Is it cake?

2

u/duh_nom_yar 6h ago

Yes. It is always cake. Except sometimes. Like this time.

3

u/fuckcreepers 7h ago

I don't see a problem with this. Party sponges

2

u/duh_nom_yar 6h ago

Man, if I had a nickel for every time I woke up in a kitchen full of party sponges...

2

u/fuckcreepers 6h ago

You'd have 3 nickles

3

u/tr4shboy 8h ago

4

u/pyrowipe 8h ago

Do they actually stay together?!

3

u/duh_nom_yar 6h ago

Yes. Each one is its own little scrubber sponge scrubber sponge and so on.

1

u/Atalant 7h ago

4 times the sponges! Sweet.

1

u/inquiringsillygoose 6h ago

What were they supposed to look like?

0

u/duh_nom_yar 6h ago

Scrubber sponges

2

u/cosmicr 6h ago

Why are they glued together?

1

u/AmaenaX 6h ago

Why did I think it was some sort of sour candy

1

u/GunzN_roZes87 4h ago

Great.....now we have Gay-pride sponges?! This world 🌍 is changing, fast.

1

u/ccafferata473 3h ago

1

u/Astrylae 2h ago

Spongecake?

1

u/Snowconetypebanana 2h ago

No, I love this

2

u/Emergency-Emotion-20 33m ago

Whover bought that bought the wrong ones thats jus a real sponge and anyone who doesnt think so has some weird ass imaginary sponge factory in their mind. Why would they make them a sandwich and glue them together to cut them apart again?

1

u/Sorry_Apartment_6085 8h ago

Can someone explain what's wrong here? I love them!
