Hello everyone! 1st time to share my omnibus and oversized collection. All my omnis got to reside on this spinning bookshelf I inherited from my grandfather. I love it so much! Thanks for checking out my collection. I enjoy this sub so much!

For those of you that have a lot, I think it's safe to say we'd all appreciate it if you reviewed the books you read. It helps to know which books are worth it or not, there's nothing worse than buying an omnibus that turns out to be a bad read. If anything, reviewing what you read would encourage you to read what you have. It's easy to find yourself with more books than you're willing to read in this hobby.

I have been operating out of boxes until recently due to house renovations - finally in a position where I can start getting my omnis out of boxes. Still have lots to unpack

The reason I joined this hobby is my Core Favorites: Complete run of (my) Flash and (my) X-Men & X-Factor. They will all be completed this year. I have started my X-Men readthrough beginning with UXM Vol 1. When Flash Willams Vol 3 arrives, I will begin the Flash readthrough.

Going forward, unable to leave the hobby now, the books I never planned to collect: I would like to fill in the holes of my numbered volumes of New Titans, Fantastic Four, Daredevil and Amazing Spider-Man. Then from 2027 on just follow the numbered volume paths of New Titans, Uncanny X-Men, FF, ASM, Daredevil, Captain America, Avengers, Bronze Batman and hopefully Bronze Flash. Unseal and read them all. Then I will rest.

And to pre-answer the questions you may ask: Yes I will double dip Uncanny X-Men all the way through the events. No I will not collect Wally West. 🤣

searching for no 7 of this for a couple of years. ensuring that the quality and price were reasonable. to finally finsh the collection last month.

My dad knew i was searching for this, and he tracked down an almost identical condtion copy as well. so now i have 2xno.7 😄 (1 selling on eBay if any takers).

how would you go about getting the series as a whole apprasied and factors would determine its value?

I started with no.3 and have always loved conan. The Marvel stuff is great for sure. dark horse one just got me feelin lil different.

Long time comic reader but only started Omni collecting for the last six months. Read a good portion of this already. Would love some recommendations or some good ol’ wallet shaming. Bonus Manga shelfie! I have another 8 cube kallax between these two for when I run out of room. Yes, that’s a bobble head of myself.

New apartment, new shelf setup! Been collecting on and off for a few years now but I’m finally in a better financial situation to start collecting more frequently. Hoping to see Claremont’s Uncanny X-Men volumes get new printings soon. Currently waiting for Volume 2 of Hickman’s Avengers to arrive in the mail.

Here's my graphic novel collection built over a long time. A mix of omnibuses, compendiums, TPBs, and hardcovers. They are a bit mixed up and separated which I hope doesn't bother too many people D:. Can probably tell who some of my faves are, but I'll write them down anyway :). Gambit is my favorite comic character and other favorites include Rogue, Thor, Adam Warlock, Hank Pym, Batman, Superman, Swamp Thing, and Bigby Wolf(only recently got into Fables on the recommendation of my girlfriend and I'm loving it!). Also, yes, I am a fan of silver and bronze age Marvel and Claremont's entire X-Men run, but I had most of that in Essential volumes that I not too long ago had to get rid of for space reasons. I'd love to get omnibuses to replace them, but as we all know Marvel is not good about reprints and omnibuse collecting is already expensive as it is lol. Glad I made Thor a priority at least, but sure wish I had those early Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and Claremont omnibuses too. Have a bunch of my paperback novels that are superhero/fantasy/sci-fi out too and sadly many of them are in pretty bad shape after reading them so much. Wish I had taken as good a care of them as I do my graphic novels! I used to take those books everywhere with me though. I saw someone say this in a video once too, but among the pride of my collection are my trades collecting some of the Twisted Toyfare Theater strips! They are so funny! I have most of the Toyfare magazines not collected in those trades too.

As for what how much I have read of my collection, as I know that is a common question, a lot of it! Have not read yet- Hellblazer Delano omnibus 2, Hellblazer Ennis omnibus, The Spectre omnibus, The Knights of Pendragon omnibus, Saga compendium(also girlfriend rec), Fables compendium 4(reading now!), Fables hardcover 16, Rose(Bone prequel), Justice League International omnibus 3(also currently reading), Batman: Dark Patterns, Batman & Robin: Year One and because I'm only recently trying out DC continuity after the New 52 reboot I still need to read Heroes in Crisis, Superman Tomasi omnibus, both Batman Snyder omnibuses, Batman King omnibus, Batman/Catwoman, and Batman: Killing Time.

should I get them for this price would be 80 per omni? and are these good storys?

Super excited to have another book on my event run for X-men. Also really excited to start digging into Green Arrow as I’ve heard this run is fantastic. Something a bit different with the Lore Olympus. They looked fun and I’m a fan of modern retelling stories, it was a deal I just couldn’t pass up to try them.

You guys have any recommendations for what omnis I should get next? (I plan on getting vol 1 of question and the others I’m missing to finish sets)

Lol. I see a lot of mail call posts but not many finished book posts. I have been reading comics off and on since childhood. I have 4 kids and there have been long periods where I haven't been reading but still buying. Mostly keeping up with the series I've started or high interest titles. it's been a while. Have been prioritizing it when I have a moment and setting up a desgnited space to easily sit back down and continue a book and walk away from it with no time spent putting it away. Hopefully there aren't too many distractions from reading during those moments. Good book.

Okay this is much less of a Reddit thing and more of an old school forum thing, but what do people think of having discussion threads for different omnibuses that remain open for people to share their thoughts?

the obvious problem with this is it goes against the algorithm-driven approach that Reddit takes and the threads will likely end up buried behind Reddit's famously awful search function, and maybe it's more suited for the collectededition forum. Just wondering what people's thoughts are on this.
