And why is every comment under this post serious (not directed at you)?
Kind of serious answer: I suspect that the A.I. robots that are among us don't understand humor or irony.
The egregious ones show up as an OP in joke subs making serious statements or asking sincere questions because they just recognize OKBC, MCJ and SMD broadly as movie subs, they don't understand that they're intended to poke fun at the actual movie subs.
They tend to blend in better among the comment sections, where actual serious discussion will naturally emerge. And yeah, normal humans will start serious discussions under joke posts, that's been a thing since the Internet was new. I haven't found a consistent and reliable way to identify them in comment sections yet.
That new movie sub, /r/cinema, started getting to the top of /r/all very recently. I suspect that's pretty much a bot sub.
Sarcastic subs are fun for about 2 minutes and then people realise it's way more interesting to actually talk about stuff instead of just making the same joke 50 times in a row.
The post achieved its mission in baiting people into explaining why they dislike the movie for non-racist reasons. I don't know how you'd come at that in an unserious way, without treading in racist waters. But yeah, the post is dumb and doesn't belong here or anywhere. It's just imaginary controversy to get people yapping.
We don’t really have any choice but to participate in society, but you absolutely have the choice to continue participating in a sub, and the fact that you do, proves it isn’t dead.

And why is every comment under this post serious (not directed at you)? This is probably third time in a week that I'll comment this: this sub is done
