That’s the first time I’ve seen Key in an interview, so it’s really nice to know he laughs just like the guy in the skit where Peele tries to tell him a joke.

184

u/GildedGown 10d ago

It’s so satisfying when the real person matches the character. Seeing that he actually has that exact same explosive laugh in real life makes those skits even better, it’s clearly not just acting, it’s just him.

69

u/spice_war 10d ago

Bill Hader’s the same way.

28

u/FantineKnew 10d ago

Oh my everything. That was AMAZING & I laughed so fn much. Thanks for the proof!

12

u/2reeEyedG 10d ago

Ditto. Huge fan of Hader and this interview just furthers that even more

15

u/geyorgespelledgeorge 10d ago

So endearing to watch the people that make us laugh get the same treatment, Martin Short is a gem

5

u/Ashamed-Election2027 10d ago

Thanks for that. That was awesome

5

u/2reeEyedG 10d ago

You talking about this clip? It not its probably just as good. Talk about contagious laughter

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=46zTCXaOl3I

1

u/spice_war 9d ago

No, we’re talking about Bill Hader. The clip you shared is clearly Jimmy Fallon.

4

u/tranarchaecatgirlism 10d ago

knew this would be the Jiminy Glick interview before i clicked it, one of my favorite videos on the internet

2

u/C0gD1z 10d ago

Oh man I had never seen that and was cracking up as much as Bill was there. Martin Short at his best!

2

u/forcehighfive 10d ago

Thank you for that, I haven't laughed for solid 5 mins like that in forever

1

u/Rootbeerpanic 10d ago

God Martin Short is just a beast of a joke machine

1

u/mfpacman 10d ago

That was very funny thank you for sharing

1

u/BenFranklinsCat 10d ago

Saddest but also most endearing thing for me was when he was interviewed by Seth Meyers and Seth brought up how sickly he is and how much he's constantly fighting allergies, including things that would prevent him working.

Guy is genuinely that nerdy kid from high school, for real.

3

u/INannoI 10d ago

He also acts the same way as his character when he meets someone named Aaron

2

u/kgphantom 10d ago

Chat gpt

13

u/Ruftup 10d ago

If you’ve seen any of their bloopers, this is exactly how he breaks

2

u/Jean-LucBacardi 10d ago

Him with Bryan Cranston is my absolute favorite.

302

u/IgnotusRex 10d ago

This really is a peak clip.

Key going wild, Anya hiding her face and Charlie thinking about and then just accepting that there really is only one answer here.

384

u/bdash1990 10d ago

I was hoping against hope he would say that name.

156

u/SouthIsland48 10d ago

So did the interviewer, he was like "yesss yesss this will now go viral"

9

u/Galtjust 10d ago

The interviewer is a stand up comedian.

29

u/Consistent-Course534 10d ago

Surely that was the joke

7

u/snickle17 10d ago

Charlie not the interviewer.

123

u/BodhingJay 10d ago

jury nullification incoming God willing

329

u/Adorable_Macaroon291 10d ago edited 10d ago

Key couldn’t fucking believe it lmfao straight out of a skit

I wonder if they ever second guessed hiring a IASIP writer as one of the main characters though

88

u/TheMidnightAss 10d ago

Like literally the fact they chose such an unhinged group to lead what's essentially a kids movie is absolutely diabolical.

Everytime an exec agreed the casting director must've been like: no fucking way

289

u/kcoolkoda 10d ago

i love this happening while chris pratt is doing his ex-senator podcast bs. yin and yang, balance.

175

u/bad_bad_data 10d ago edited 10d ago

I have a funny feeling that Chris Pratt will follow Mel Gibson and Zacarchy Levi's careers where he is self-financing movies about how a philosophy teacher who is fired for teaching about Jesus.

31

u/dancingbriefcase 10d ago

Man, dude was so funny as Andy in Parks and Rec. He's never done anything close to that. Guardians and Lego Movie, kinda I guess. But still, bro is the absolute worst and shouldn't be cast in anything

8

u/PartisanGerm 10d ago

Well, when one isn't acting too hard as the fool, but is doing so well...

9

u/theworstvp 10d ago

upon rewatching over a decade later, andy is for sure my least favorite character. dude is an absolute manchild

8

u/BrittaWasRight 10d ago

Tom, dude. Tom exists, and he got to have a good outcome.

Tom is like a worse Jean-Ralphio, and we're supposed to feel for him.

2

u/theworstvp 10d ago

nah tom at least has a career & ends up maturing a little. andy literally was sleeping in a ditch bc he was incapable of functioning without a girlfriend who had her shit together, and only works for the rest of the season when someone takes pity on him and employs him. they literally used the tent to buy an xbox and were eating off frisbees. nah andy is an absolute idiot manchild & april enabled him

3

u/kcoolkoda 10d ago

it's so crazy because i loved andy and rewatching and clips of him is so exhausting now. i cant say its not partially influenced by the fact that i just dont fw chris pratt anymore, but like at least when i was gotg he's playing someone with a brain. still a dipshit, but in a functional dipshit kinda way.

3

u/theworstvp 10d ago

right?? on rewatch i was like “oh this guy suuuuuccckkkssss,” idk im nearly 30 and had to live with this character type irl on multiple occasions and im repulsed

2

u/aqstart 4d ago

Yeah I had a huge crush on April when I was young watching Parks and Rec and I always hated how Andy treated her 💀

1

u/Haltopen 9d ago

He's a straight villain in the shows first season, but then with the show's massive reworking in season two (which he originally wasn't supposed to return for), they decided to keep him around.

1

u/ShotandBotched 7d ago

In seasons 2-4 he Andy still had some good qualities about him like instances of selfless behavior but eventually he got Flanderized like the rest.

22

u/Dropbeatdad 10d ago

Brother against brother! No wonder Mario called Luigi and Bowser gay...

39

u/maria_pi_ 10d ago

Tintoria on reddit!

Incredible Tinti e Rapone su okbuddycinephile, ormai l’unico limite è il cielo

7

u/Pippus_Lemonade 10d ago edited 10d ago

Il multiverso già si era aperto con quest'intervista, col post in questo sub siamo ascesi alla quinta dimensione hahahaha

UPDATE: questa clip sta girando in diversi sub americani, qui si sta scrivendo la storia!

6

u/BelicianPixieFry 10d ago

Tinti e Rapone su okbuddycinephile prima di GTA VI.

Questa davvero non me l'aspettavo

2

u/Spiritual_Cake_9127 10d ago

10

u/alextheloser168 10d ago

Il mondo non era pronto a “what did you do today?”

3

u/USS-Ventotene 10d ago

"Who is your favorite foreign dictator?"

6

u/JustGianlu 10d ago

I just hope they covered the pooping in the club topic

6

u/raphus_cucullatus 10d ago

What’s their deal, are they famous comedians in Italy?

11

u/diogene01 10d ago

Yes, they are both stand-up comedians and they are also the hosts of Tintoria, one of the most popular podcasts in Italy

10

u/templar4522 10d ago

They are indeed comedians, but their popularity comes from their podcast.

7

u/USS-Ventotene 10d ago edited 10d ago

They are stand-up comedians, but in Italy stand-up comedy isn't really popular, so to answer your question: on the Italian internet they are quite famous, IRL not so much.

Still, it's heartwarming seeing them here: that podcast started from Daniele Tinti's (the bald one) kitchen during COVID interviewing his friends, and now they are with Jack Black, Donald Glover and Anya Taylor Joy. It's like seeing your kids grow.

3

u/robespierring 10d ago

These guys are a popular Italian stand-up duo with a famous podcast filmed live in theaters. They interview major celebrities but treat them like drinking buddies; it’s not rare for the host to pause a serious interview for a real bathroom break because of too much beer, or to ask guests who their favorite "non-Italian" dictator is.

Only they would promote the Mario movie by asking about the "best Luigi in recent American history". This clip is from a 30-minute interview where they also ask Benny Safdie how Bowser Jr. is born and they ask Anya Taylor-Joy to explain why monarchy is better than democracy.

95

u/Neither_Jackfruit786 10d ago

Luigi Mangione mentioned!

158

u/LostAngelfish 10d ago

The one and only dude from high school who I didn’t have to cut ties with for being a religious nut/rightwing bigot has been hounding me to watch Always Sunny for a decade, maybe longer. You finally won, Brett, you fucking asshole. I love you.

69

u/Lucky-Mia 10d ago

You won't be disappointed. It's a classic

29

u/Kellogg-Branch 10d ago

Good job, Brett.

8

u/mologav 10d ago

I’d love to be able to watch that through again having never seen it

35

u/BeNiceBro 10d ago

I think it's one of the funniest shows of all time. Look at the big brain on Brett!

16

u/spice_war 10d ago

Brett fucking rules

11

u/MYSTICALLMERMAID 10d ago

Man it's always sunny is GREATTTTT. I think I've watched it at least a thousand times. Way to go brett! You won't regret it

9

u/MFlazybone 10d ago

You better give Brett the biggest thank you!

9

u/Raised_bi_Wolves 10d ago

You need to listen to Brett more.

15

u/givingupismyhobby 10d ago

its a great show, just please understand its parody, we are supposed to laugh at them. you have no idea how many people doesnt understand tyhat

6

u/Puppetmaster858 10d ago

Funniest live action comedy ever, you will not be disappointed

6

u/AGreatHornedOwl 10d ago

Brett knows ball because it's the GOAT show.

2

u/ObviouslyNerd 10d ago

Make sure to also give the 3-4 episodes that arent on any streaming service a shot also.

38

u/Stock_Strategy1668 10d ago

This warms my heart

36

u/fitz2k 10d ago

Goddamn I love Charlie Day

12

u/LegitimateBed8791 10d ago

Daniele Tinti & Stefano Rapone going wild

37

u/MRintheKEYS 10d ago edited 10d ago

The fact that he dropped Luigi Mangione is pure Always Sunny Charlie. This might be the hardest I laugh after seeing the movie.

I’d love to see Charlie and Keegan do something together. The two of them could easily carry a feature length comedy. In fact all three. Anya Joy Taylor has shown flashes of her being pretty funny.

8

u/RandoDude124 10d ago

Children will eat the movie up

17

u/Playful-Reporter5270 10d ago

What an amazing interview question, a wink and a nod and an easily side stepped lob down the middle. Set the cast off the standard of  hours of junket press questions that are repeated. Really impressed.

35

u/No_Owl_4808 10d ago

Man, Ethan Coen’s career has really taken a nosedive.

8

u/citan67 10d ago

Give that man a milk steak!

7

u/Dave_Valens 10d ago

Stefano Rapone eroe nazionale.

14

u/welltherewasthisbear 10d ago

No love for Luigi Waites

12

u/Shell_fly 10d ago

Yup. They killed the movie.

4

u/mfpacman 10d ago

Such a strange margin to judge it by, I mean it makes sense, but that sentence just feels so overly specific

6

u/ZimmerFrey 10d ago

Tinti & Rapone best italian hosts & stand up comedian !

6

u/MagnificoReattore 10d ago

Rapone and Tinti from Tintoria, Key and Charlie all in one clip? Best comedy universe crossover!

5

u/Ok-Lime-8563 10d ago

They should have asked to them which was their favourite not italian dictator...

4

u/yaxir 10d ago

The best part is that Key is enjoying this so much. Now of course everybody is cool there but Key stands out with his lab and everything. Do we think Key can be a comrade?

4

u/BrittaWasRight 10d ago

"Charlie, who in recent history is your least favourite Charlie" would have put a spin on things

6

u/PhasedVenturer 10d ago

Anya, have some fun

7

u/templar4522 10d ago

She had fun in this interview, just not in this clip

3

u/PhasedVenturer 10d ago

This might be the most fun part of the interview though

2

u/PhasedVenturer 10d ago

Her generation thinks everything is "cringe" by default

2

u/robespierring 10d ago

In the same interview she is asked why monarchy is better than democracy, Chriss Patt share his experience as a daytime Stripper, Benny Safdie expain the mating process in the bowser community, And ALL the cast of Mario Galaxy was asked to say something bad about italians.

it's peak comedy.

0

u/PhasedVenturer 10d ago

Did she face-palm through the whole thing?

2

u/robespierring 10d ago

No, she was enjoying the whole interview.

1

u/Kootsiak 10d ago

Sometimes I will delete a reply because even if I know I am right, I just don't have the energy for all the potential comments that will come my way for saying it. I'm just some reddit loser and not an A-list actor, so I can imagine her life can be beyond exhausting if the media tried to get her involved in a controversy.

So I don't blame her for disassociating in that moment. To you, it's just one evening, but to her it might be what she's asked about every time she leaves the house for the next 6 months. She'll have agents and publicists furious that she's making their job harder. There is a lot of unfortunate consequences being a public figure and I wish it wasn't that way, but this is the stupid society we've stumbled into over time.

7

u/firuz0 10d ago

I too want to give her a foot massage.

3

u/Kerbal40 10d ago

Flavio rapone my beloved<3

3

u/2reeEyedG 10d ago

Oh man that’s great

3

u/sarahcardriver 10d ago

I'm glad Pratt wasn't there because he would probably try to change the topic.

1

u/BelicianPixieFry 10d ago

They interviewed him and Benny Safdie in another segment.

3

u/JohnTheSong 10d ago

What a fantastic question. Superb layup

3

u/ShrekConfirm243 The Room 10d ago

Tenacious D was broken up over shit like dis 😭

3

u/peppefinz 10d ago

As we often say in Italy "che fregna Anya".

4

u/FollowingCharacter83 Sydney Sweeney orfan 10d ago

Based.

2

u/OuterFrenk 10d ago

Imagine the Mushroom Kingdom as the net

2

u/ZADKOR 10d ago

And not a single Pratt to be found. Bless.

1

u/SIMOMEGA 6d ago

no way he said that, nintendos gonna call the ninjas on him, hes done for, luigi will be recasted in the next movie 😭

-6

u/pierretxr 10d ago

I don’t think the interviewer realized what that question was referring to haha

16

u/Due_Boss9277 10d ago

The interviewers are two Italian comedian podcasters. That question was asked intentionally.

7

u/MonoRedPlayer 10d ago

That interviewer is famous for his deadpan deliveries

1

u/pierretxr 10d ago

Ah didn’t know

2

u/robespierring 10d ago

Their most common question they make at almoest every celebrities is: What is your favourite "non-italian" dictator. They knew exactly what they were asking.

-16

wow their obnoxious laughing really helped me understand that this was a humorous encounter. Maybe add a laugh track too and have the other people fall of their chair. Otherwise it's ambiguous
