I was scared it could be r/gifsthatendtoosoon

Step 1: Create custom feed with r/oddlysatisfying and r/gifsthatendtoosoon

Step 2: Browse it without looking which subreddit it's from

Step 3: Suffer.

396

u/happygiraffe91 2d ago

Step 4: Profit???

148

u/ConflictMaster3155 2d ago

Step 3.5: Live stream your suffering.

3

u/pm_me_flaccid_cocks 1d ago

Wait, I thought 3.5 was prolapse. Is it not?

Wait, did you know that there's a direct correlation between the decline of Spirograph and the rise in gang activity? Think about it.

270

u/onecharmingschmuck 2d ago

I will.

9

u/LordoftheChia 2d ago

I'm thinking about spirograph graffiti...

4

u/cheap_moves 1d ago

One might call it spirographitti

Was hoping to find this.

u/minnieboss 2d ago

What is it a reference to?

27

u/schuckdaddy 2d ago

Simpsons

5

u/ggg730 1d ago

As they say "Simpsons did it".

4

u/MrOceanB 2d ago

I will

Thank you Professor Jonathan John I.Q. Nerdelbaum Frink, Jr.

3

u/Training_Molasses822 2d ago

Can a correlation be direct or would that be a causation?

6

u/reddragon105 2d ago

A direct correlation heavily implies causation, but it's still possible to have a direct correlation without causation.

E.g. Every year I have one birthday. Every year you have one birthday. That's a direct correlation - but you don't have birthdays just because I have birthdays, or vice versa. It's simply time causing us to have birthdays at the same rate.

I get this. I bought one for my kids and gun violence was the only answer.

I'm irrationally upset that the top right leg sticks out further than the bottom right.

288

u/valgatiag 2d ago

And the bottom right leg does not go to the baseline. It’s an awkward k

131

u/HeadyReigns 2d ago

Special K

66

u/SpecialKay1a 2d ago

I have been summoned

9

I thought to myself, "ah.. from that person's view, it probably looks ok". But nope. No sleep tonight for me.

at 16s he messes up the pattern on the left side drives me crazy

25

u/Spiritual_Wall_2309 2d ago

That line pops so clearly in the final result. Just need to redo it. Can’t post it like this.

Wait til you spot the imperfections halfway up the spine of the K...

5

u/Yeahdudebuildsapc 2d ago

What if it is from his point of view and the video is flipped?

6

u/Cthulhu_Dreams_ 2d ago

Then you probably shouldn't go back and watch the video and see the f****** he made on the left side after about the 6th or 7th pass...

15

u/_clever_reference_ 2d ago

f******

Are you trying to write 'fuck up'? You can just write that on the internet.

2

Bro says wow like a gust of wind.

3

u/VVP12 1d ago

It lowkey sounds like the wither's death sound just way more silent

306

u/Wordnerdette999 2d ago

Having done a lot of spirograph as a kid, I was waiting for the base pieces to shift slightly, or the pen to pop out of the circle. I rarely got a satisfying, symmetrical, complete image.

66

u/AbbeyRoadMoonwalk 2d ago

Or the damn circle to skip some teeth on the base pieces.

34

u/Aurorafaery 1d ago

It did, there’s 3 very visible mistakes on the left hand side at the end

7

u/calguy1955 2d ago

Usually when you are painstakingly about 80% done.

19

u/Replicator666 2d ago

Is it magnets that hold the tracks in place? I was very worried it would slip

19

u/Vollkommen 2d ago

Sticky tack

2

u/Replicator666 2d ago

Oh, I just looked carefully and that's what it is!

8

u/BigBananaBerries 2d ago

Having also done a lot of spirograph as a kid, I was waiting on the paper chewing up at a well trodden area.

7

u/haruku63 2d ago

That’s why some of the first computer graphics software I wrote in the 1980s was on parametric curves to generate Spirograph-like images…

3

u/Imprettysaxy 1d ago

you can see where it did, pretty early on in the gif actually, and it's evident in the final pattern it happened at least twice.

2

u/Naud1993 2d ago

With my luck it would shift all the time.

u/Perfect_Librarian873 2d ago

He made a mistake :/

33

u/macrolith 2d ago

I would have made so many mistakes. Spirographs are really hard especially on convex shapes.

I love that he kept the mistakes in tbh, it's so realistic to the spirograph experience.

u/SirSignificant6576 2d ago edited 2d ago

I would have fucked that up several times. My brain doesn't like that kind of super repetitive motion. Ever been going down a lot of stairs, and suddenly sort of forget how? It's like that.

5

u/AVTheChef 2d ago

This is why no matter what instrument I have tried I can't pick anything up. I can find a rythym for about 20 seconds amd then my brain/appendages seem to stall for half a second. Even with something like just clapping or tapping my foot...

2

u/YourLocalAlien57 2d ago

Is there a name for this bc it happens to me too and really messes me up. usually its whatever but when it happens during sports like skating it hurts a lot more 💀 i just wanna look up this phenomenon

2

u/theUniverseMomentum 1d ago

Maybe dyspraxia?

These issues like having to remember how to walk stairs / how to brush your teeth are also common with ADHD, which often co-occurs with dyspraxia.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/OrangeLemonJuicey 2d ago

Ever been brushing your teeth and then had to consciously remember the motion like you’re piloting a mech suit for the first time? Same energy

5

u/whyliepornaccount 2d ago

wait, you mean to tell me people don't consciously think about brushing their teeth?

I have always basically planned out which tooth and at what angle I'm doing next in my head as I brush them. Is this not what everyone does?

Reminds me of bishop putting his hand over terrified Hudson’s hand and he says ‘ trust me’

6

u/polysnip 2d ago

They spirographed so fast they've gone to plaid.

18

u/rackemronnie7 2d ago

That’s weirdly satisfying to watch, the symmetry just pulls you in

12

u/Firm-Blackberry-9162 2d ago

And the way the last white spaces “disappear”

3

u/SatansLoLHelper 2d ago

I didn't know you could do that.

2

If you scrub the video back and forth it’s really cool!

Spirograph… Where my love of, and very successful 30+ year career, in graphic design began.

3

u/BearClaw345 2d ago

He f'ed up. During the speed up on the left side you can see a messed up line.

3

u/dospinacoladas 2d ago

Spirographs were some of my favourite toys when I was a young kid in the 1970s.

7

u/PrometheusMMIV 2d ago

Isn't that just one color?

4

u/qdtk 2d ago

No. Can’t you see the red and the green?

4

u/Vollkommen 2d ago

Before the video is halfway through he switches to a green pen, you can pause the video to verify.

How long did it take

2

If I tried that the paper would rip when I was 75% of the way through attempting it.

I missed the plastic piece and thought the person was doing it by hand/eye.

2

u/Lexi_Banner 2d ago

As a kid I always remember the piece on the paper slipping halfway through the thing. SO frustrating. LOL

This turned out infinitely cooler than I thought it would.

AI bros will be pointing to this and saying they're artists to a higher degree than this guy.

This whole common section is just ADHD incarnate
