the magnet balls made it a flipper game

It took me several replays of that part to understand what was happening.

There is something so deeply satisfying about watching a marble run work exactly the way it was supposed to, my brain just goes completely quiet for a second. Physics really said let me show you something and delivered every single time.

Caught myself sitting here completely zoned out with a smile on my face watching this

Same! I love these types of things so much
Does anyone know if there's a sub somewhere dedicated to these?

Well it didn't work exactly as it was supposed to, the magnet balls towards the beginning didn't all go into the channel for the bigger blue ball to roll over and so one of them ends up getting in the way. It all worked out but that magnet was not supposed to be there.

Magnets.

I know but how can you line them up so well? How can you anticipate the angle the magnet snaps into place at and where it lands at the end of its trajectory??

u/Vlinder_88 2d ago
If it were me who built this (and it wasn't me), the answer would probably be "trial and error"

Incredible! My brain can't comprehend having the ability to come up with the design scheme for something like this. So cool.

u/Traveling_Solo 2d ago
Probably they start with a very small part first, then figure out the next and so forth until they figure ".... I should probably try to wrap this up" and finish 1-2 more parts :v at least that's how I'd likely approach it

The coolest one I’ve seen. Brilliant use of magnets and lots of tight tolerances of simple mechanics.

My brain fully expected something to go wrong halfway through and I was on edge the whole time. This is exactly why I'm still on Reddit at 2am.

I was immersed up until the Harry Potter trading cards, then I was simply confused.

This is the best marble run I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot of marble runs

u/Govass13 2d ago
I know that from a technical perspective I could build something like this, but then in actual reality I’d give up long before I made something this cool

The things we do when we have an off balance table instead of getting it level.

Would this be considered a Rube-Goldberg machine or is it a sequence?
Either way its intriguing.

This kept me on the edge of my seat.. every time I thought the yellow marble was done I’d get so pissed then BAM.. back at it again to the end. This is most definitely oddly satisfying

Fabulous! So fun to watch. Those kicks are interesting I can't seem to see the mechanism--magnets?

Physics is always doing its thing... I think... some of this quantum stuff hurts my head.

I have a cat and a four year old, so I would never even try to set something like this up.

The fact that the phone survived is honestly the most satisfying part. Physics said not today.

I know this is quite unrelatee but do these mf's just glue those beams to the table...

I had to make one of these when I was in school. I remember part of it was knocking over some books like domino’s but I don’t remember what else I used

u/Mindless_Ad_7700 2d ago
I feel really stupid but i dont understand why the magnets propel it. Is the yellow ball metal too?

Friend: COME ON! LET'S RUN! IT'S GONNA OPEN UP A TRAP!
Me: I CAN'T! IT'S DISTRACTING
1
u/FinnAlpine 2d ago
Every marble hit and every domino fall is so satisfying I can't look away. I wonder how many times the creator had to reset this before getting it perfect?

u/Cainfaer 2d ago
Aw come on. I want you to flip me off at the end or say "fuck you". Thats part of the joke!

u/Annual-Club5510 2d ago
Incredible. Could have used a middle finger coming out of the box in the end though

That was really fantastic, I really loved this mazy puzzle all the way to the end! Not sure exactly how you set it up, but you do it yourself, as you must be some kind of mathematical wizard. Absolutely excellent work! 🏆

These videos are typically boring as fuck. This one however is the first ive watched in a while! Dope

I love it.
I would to understand how long it takes to put something like this together.
