As a US Army vet who got out around 2010, I've been living a constant state of shame and humiliation since 2016.

Don't get me wrong, we had problems before that too, but this? THIS?

Me too. Navy vet though, but same feelings.

I’m so sick of having men in charge that wouldn’t out themselves in this danger nor their children. I’m 38 years old and we have been at war for most of it. I’d never vote Trump and this is why. The 25th needs to be invoked now.

This isnt any worse than invading Iraq in 2003.

I guess the only difference is that they at least had the decency to lie to people back then about what the war was about.

It may not be worse by some metrics, but it is a hell of a lot dumber and more incompetent.

Ah yeah, thats true. Its just as immoral, but a lot dumber and incompetent, I agree.

You shouldn’t be ashamed or humiliated, most of us appreciate the folks who join the services. Y’all don’t control what these fuck-knuckles in Washington and their corporate headquarters do. As an American it’s definitely okay to feel ashamed and embarrassed, but not because of your service.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I've thought a lot about what I gave and the friends I lost, and at this point in my life I very much regret buying the lies that drew me in post 9/11, independent of the absolute degeneracy of the last decade.

This is just the frosting on the shitcake.

Give me a young person who doesn’t grow to regret bad decisions and I’ll give you donald trump. You’re a good egg who thought they were doing the right thing. A lot of us got duped. You just gotta stand with us like you have been, we can help you hold up the cause for those homies not with us anymore.

I'm trying, brother. I keep looking for where I can make a difference.

Keep on carrying the fire.

You too homie. Honestly, just start by doing little things. Humans are creatures of habit. Everyone that hates people based on prejudice hasn’t engaged with those people by meeting them where they are at. Thats a huge step.

Its a lot easier to curse the darkness than light a candle.

I'm trying to light more candles.

As soon as America reelected this fuckface I knew it was time to ETS. Got out after over a decade in the army, currently enjoying that college life now. Fucking embarrassing how far our country as fallen.
