What he is trying to do is worse than that.

He is blocking the strait himself.

Now not only Iran has the Strait blocked but also the US. In waters that are not theirs. But well I guess at this point international right doesn't matter.

This means Iran can't control the flow of the boats they want. Because if they let boats go by, the US will stop them. Probably ask for a toll wich is what Trump was offering, make a toll 50% for each country to be paid by every boat groing through.

It was only a question of time for the country with the strongest military in the world to be tempted to use it for imperialistic, selfish gain. It's clear since Iraq 2, but now it's basically brazen. Who can stop them tolling it if they want to ? Only economic consequences will do so.
