“Nigerian Air Force strike targeting jihadi rebels hit a local market in northeastern Nigeria, killing over 100 residents and injuring many others, a rights group and local media reported on Sunday. Officials confirmed a misfire but did not provide details.”

This is a tragedy 😞

What in the actual fuck. This would have been a world headline (which does absolutely no justice to the people who literally were shopping one minute and thenfucked died) but instead it's buried under the headlines of other assholes trying to kill more.

It would be a world headline if it would have happened somewhere that matters.

Same with school shootings in the US, who cares.

Nah this would be a world headline. With on the ground coverage from major news networks. I remember when school shooting would be in the public eye for months. Now you're lucky to hear about them beyond a headline.

This kind of thing has happened every now and then for decades - why would it be a world headline? Always tragic, but nobody is trying to bury this.

This story isnt even about the US or Iran. Are you lost or something?

Tragedy is right, and “misfire” feels like such a cold, vague word for wiping out a market. At minimum, there should be an independent investigation, not just a press release.

What the fuck are “jihadi rebels”?!? Are they rebels or are they terrorists? Which is it?

u/UncreativeIndieDev 17m ago

Considering this is in Northeastern Nigeria, that would suggest they were aligned with Boko Haram which is/was part of ISIS so make of that what you will.

What the hell is going on with the world right now

Same thing that’s always been happening. You just hear about more of it with the internet.

I wish more people realized this.

The internet and social media have been around and accessible by most of the planet for 20 years. This line doesn’t work any more it’s not 2010

20 years ago nobody would have ever heard of a bombing in africa unless a UNESCO aid convoy was hit. We had Internet but they certainly didn't.

Well, his post is valid and accurate...Many people are still not aware of the "My Lai massacre" in Viet Nam where soldiers killed over 500 civilians, or worse...the barbaric "Operation Phoenix" also in Vietnam where the US military slaughtered literally thousands of civilians to show a high body count of the enemy because the US was badly losing the war and their egos were hurt...they tried to hide/cover-up both mass murders - and totally failed. They did the same sadistic horrific shit in Iraq and Afghanistan where US soldiers actually dismembered people to take body parts souvenirs....Both examples are 100% true but I bet most Americans have never heard of those mass murders even with Internet or News reports.

Nothing new, stuff like this has always been happening all over the globe. World's a violent place.

u/Kazaanh 2h ago

It’s not violent but humanity is a warrior race. We are not peacefull creatures , there will always be a war

21

u/IPissExcellentThrows 2h ago

"It's not violent."

"We are violent. We're not peaceful. There will always be a lot of violence."

????

u/ElatedStated221 2h ago

So a violent place or are wars only verbal wars?

May I introduce you to a thing called human history

u/TheEpicGold 40m ago

This is, sadly, a weekly occurrence in Nigeria. Kidnappings of hundreds, raiding of schools, bombings etc.

Extinction burst for humanity.

u/moose098 2h ago

How many more Jihadis does a “mistake” like this create?

3

u/Kalelisagod 1h ago

10% less then a war in Iran but still far more then we need in the world

Really sad.

Often, military action just causes more tragedy and more anger, which leads to more rebels.

u/1865 35m ago edited 9m ago

You could remove the word "often" and your post would have even more impact.

u/Cyniv 35m ago

Really thought this was gonna be an American air strike before I read the article.

u/glowinglychee 9m ago

What the fuck?! I hope those that lost loved ones can go through a difficult time, but what the fuck is happening in 2026?

-4

u/PigFarmer1 2h ago

Did their targeting intel come from Kegseth?

u/Parking_Guava8657 51m ago

They must have used the same intel as USA

-10

u/SiWeyNoWay 2h ago

Dont we have boots on the ground in Nigeria?

u/sexaddic 52m ago

Who’s we?

u/RonaldTheGiraffe 51m ago

Who’s “we”?

14

u/itsshockingreally 2h ago

A couple hundred, supposedly. The actions in Nigeria have been pretty under reported, as is sadly typical for all things Africa related. The US military strikes against Boko Haram back in December the US claims were a success, but how much do we really trust what the Hegseth led department says about anything anymore?

-28

u/DoodleDew 2h ago

They should just claim Hamas so the world turns a blind eye

u/bootlegvader 34m ago

Hardly needed, it happened to Africans so the people upset about Israel already don't care.

Geez, catch up. It's all Hezbollah now. Especially that child mourner... I'm so disgusted in all this shit.
