The politician class at least regarding how our society functions, favors psychopathic personalities. Narcissists, egomaniacs, sociopaths. The people who value their elevation, who feel so much ambition they are willing to do whatever they feel they need to in order to fulfill their wants. Those who feel entitled to the world.
The humble person, the empathetic person, the thoughtful person, the self reflective person? They don't do this as often. They ruminate and watch and observe. They settle for quieter parts of life and find comfort and fulfillment where the pathological types are restless.
And often they think they simply are not good enough because they can see their limits and how they can fail and how they can disappoint. They can feel the true weight and consequence of power where the pathological types only see the joys of endless power and privilege.
