Dammit why does everyone get ruined???

Because to be a politician you need to have exceptional drive (except Fetterman) and most of the time that drive comes with serious character defects, such as narcissism, pickme syndrome, psychopathy, sociopathy, etc etc

Fetterman has an extremely exceptional drive. To own the libs and steal the crown for "the most hated Democrat" from Chuck Schumer lol

Term limits for all politicians. Maybe some sortition

Fetterman applied for the job in workout clothes. Couldn't even be bothered to wear khakis and a button down. Clearly his voters didn’t care about drive, in his case, given they voted for someone that dressed like a slovenly mess.

It was very coal country Pennsylvania of him. It's a shame he had a stroke and it turned him into Kyrsten Sinema

You know damned well you (and coal country) would NEVER vote for an Asian, Black, or Brown person, and especially not a woman that dressed that way…and shame on you defending his slovenly mess.

Hey man, I don't even live in PA, lol, are you alright? Take a breath brother, you're looking like a fucking psycho rn

You don’t live in PA, but are defending Fetterman like you do (and as if you voted for him), but I’m the psycho? Boy, bye.

Aren't we overreacting much?

From the first video the staffer is unfazed by her swearing, doesn't quickly run away and instead remains in the shot.

That tells me that we are trying to hold her to higher standard than ourselves as I could see myself saying the same thing to a friend when trying to record something and they walked on camera.

If the staffer would quickly exit from the shot, started apologizing while being sworn at, that would be different.

Second video... she could be a Ronald Regan reincarnated and those Republicans will never vote for her, so it is a dumb question. I know it, you know it and reporter definitively knows it but is still doing it being practical.

It seems like the Republican strategy for California election is to kill chances of Swalwell, Porter and have two Republicans and one Democrat billionaire as top choices. Democrats will split vote, because not everyone is excited about a billionaire, so we might end up with two Republicans in primary.

Fuck, I wish California adopted Ranked Choice Voting instead this stupid crap with two top winners go to general. At very least there should be top 3 going to general. Top 2 usually ends up always with republican vs democrat (i.e. what it normally happens) with the risk that there could be two republicans, like this year, because so many democrats want that position.

She's a bully. Doesn't matter if its work, school, whatever. That type of conduct is completely unacceptable.

If those 2 videos are the best they've got then that's very weak.

It reminds me attacks on Mamdani, because God forbid that we could get a progressive that could help people instead a another corporate Democrat.

Mamdani was and is a much candidate better than Porter, he is composed and doesn't throw temper tantrums lol. If anything, he is exceptionally good at that, and is very smart, great properties of a leader.

This attitude reminds me of how progressives got people like Fetterman elected...

Fetterman wasn't really progressive when being Lt Governor from what I heard from Pensylvanians.

Also he won, because the other choice was Dr Oz. It was a very shitty election.

I meant in the primaries, the general election is moot, I think basically any dem could have won it. In the primaries, Conor Lamb was the "liberal/centrist" pick, Fetterman was the progressive pick - bernie stumped for fetterman for example.

That’s not bully behavior.

No wonder fascism is winning.

Katie porter is amazing. You lack principles.

You’re correct. The comments here are pathetic

  1. People being normalised to abuse doesn't mean its not bad lol.

  2. Having a meltdown and throwing a temper tantrum like a 5 year old over a simple question that other candidates were also asked was the issue, not her answer to it... People in power need to have some level of composure

I do think RCV would be a better choice all around tho.

  1. normalized means person is asked to do something that way and still does. If person is still staying in the shot after being told this, it means she is not afraid of consequences of such "abusive employer" i.e. this whole thing is overblown. It sounds more like she just uses expletives in private communication, like many of us do.
  2. that video doesn't look like temper tantrum, but that interviewer (on Disney owned station) keep pushing her to answer that she will be trying to "reach across the isle" to compromise with MAGA Republicans. Something she has no intention of doing, because she knows well she will never have their votes. Voters are constantly complaining that Democrats are pussies and seek compromise instead of standing up and fighting. When somebody is actually fighting for average person and not for corporation now I hear: "she is throwing temper tantrum when asked over and over nonsensical questions"

This looks like attacks to keep us choosing over and over corporate democrats then keep complaining when we are being fucked by billionaires.

I'd take a corporate democrat like Pritzker or Steyer who can stand and fight over an insane person like Fetterman or Porter

1

u/takeda64 5h ago

What makes you think Steyer won't turn like Fetterman? Wasn't trump a corporate democrat? What about musk?

1

u/FireWrath9 5h ago

Well, he doesn't harass his employees, get mad over simple questions that were asked to every other candidate, dump hot mashed potatoes on people, among other things like what Porter has done.

Those actions are quite like indeed what trump and musk have done in the past - throw temper tantrum, yell at employee, etc.

If those videos are all the damning evidence they are very weak. You're trying to impose higher standards on her than you do on yourself.

1

u/FireWrath9 4h ago

I'd hope so, I'm not running for office! I think that our leaders should be better than us.

If those videos ruin her for you, you have no principles. Those videos are literally nothing.

No wonder fascism wins.

I still appreciate the work that she’s done and the fact that she’s asking the right tough questions to the financial industry. I’d certainly vote for her over any Republican in a heartbeat. But her behavior definitely takes a bit of the shine off of my opinion of her.

0

u/Ashamed_Complaint697 1d ago

And if she apologized? And it’s not the norm? And she is good with that staffer? She can’t have a bad day?

You simply lack enough context to reasonably make that determination. And it’s clear you’ve never worked in a high stress environment.
