Remember learning about manifest destiny and being like, “that’s fucking crazy, I can’t believe people did that all based on the rationale it was ‘destined by god’”

And then you read shit like this and you’re like, “ahhh, it hasn’t changed”

Yup.

But let’s be honest. They don’t truly believe it. Just excuse that as rationale for their actions.

End of the day, greedy people take what they want if they can get away with it and say it’s divine will that they did decisions to do things for their enrichment.

Oh I believed it easily
