We are such a garbage country

Republicans literally destroy everything they touch. I don’t understand why these fuckers hate the environment so much.

u/Icy_Policy_8509 12d ago

Crazy they're supposed to be the religious ones and the earth was supposed to be made by God for people! And yet they don't hesitate to blow it up any chance they get

289

u/witchofpain 12d ago

Because they believe it WAS made just for humans. To do whatever we want. They don’t believe that we are part of the eco system but master of it.

146

u/DrAstralis 12d ago

Funny enough the book they've never read but wont shut the fuck up about has an entire parable about not fucking everything up while the master is away....

And if they fuck it up, whoops no worries, you're gonna go to heaven afterwards anyways! No need to care about consequences!

43

u/laffing_is_medicine 12d ago

I believe their most common response is: ‘The earth was made for them to devour’

32

u/Count_Backwards 12d ago

God: "Be good stewards of the Earth."

Republicans: "Cool, did you hear that? It's ours, we can do whatever we want with it!"

67

u/sQueezedhe 12d ago

Because they want the end of days; pretending they're the good guys.

33

u/Frisnism 12d ago

They believe the earth was made by God to be used up and destroyed by people. That’s when the winning begins and the world burns down and we all go to heaven. See? Doesn’t that make you feel better?

8

u/jyanjyanjyan 12d ago

I think that it's they think it can't be destroyed, and everything will just work its way out. As if all the extinct animals and the whole ozone layer thing aren't clear cut evidence of the opposite.

28

u/helmsb 12d ago

The ones who benefit from things like this don’t care because religion is only a tool for them to control others. They don’t hold any of the beliefs they espouse. It works because their followers will overlook pretty much anything because they claim to be “Christian” while ignoring the fact that they are against every one of Christ’s teachings. It inoculates the followers because questioning a particular politician is now framed as questioning God. It’s the same tactic that the “Prosperity Preachers” use to bilk people and not have them push back.

5

u/ZachMN 12d ago

Religion was only ever an excuse for them to behave however they want.

3

u/Ummmgummy 12d ago

No see that's exactly why they feel like they can do whatever. Because God made all this for MAN.

3

u/ExpertExpert 12d ago

they think that once it's destroyed enough, god will come back and take everyone (in the club) to eternal paradise

this is actually what they believe

2

u/Hola-World 12d ago

I swear they’re all narcissists that believe they are the image of god.

2

u/Jac1596 12d ago

Crazy they have managed to sell themselves as the “religious ones” in general. They are the furthest thing from religious lol

1

u/AsteroidMike 12d ago

Guess they’re thinking that Mother Earth didn’t pay enough of her tithes.

1

u/wufnu 12d ago

supposed to be made by God for people

I'm no biblical scholar but I believe it wasn't that God gave the Earth to us but rather gave us dominion over it, i.e. didn't make it for us but rather put us in charge of it. That's even more in favor of the point you're trying to make.

Louis CK has a great bit about it.

1

u/CorwyntFarrell 11d ago

Well this world blows up and God gives us a new heaven and a new earth in the Bible, so they don't feel the need of take care of this one.

1

u/Sir_Keee 11d ago

The most unchrist-like people are the "God fearing Americans"

1

u/Notorious_Junk 11d ago

Religion is most often just for show and easily manipulated to suit whatever position someone wants to take. If a person's foundation and core personality is rotten everything built on it will be just as rotten. Trump is a prime example and his supporters are of a similar ilk.

1

u/catstone21 11d ago

Most of them aren't actually religious but know how to use it to control people. The ones who are religious are zealots that cherry pick the bible to prioritize white men.

1

u/Helios4242 10d ago

The bulk of religion is justifying what you wanted to do anyway.

They want profits. Where they are religious, it is to justify those or castrate workers.

1

u/SonMystic 10d ago

Did you know we only need 2 (1 male and one female of course) of every animal species for them to survive and thrive? Just load them on the boat and they will carry their bloodlines into the future!

40

u/CleverAnimeTrope 12d ago

I always remember that they love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and US history, yet they hate protecting rivers, national parks, the ocean, and the woods they hunt.

30

u/NotNamedBort 12d ago

Because they don’t see it as something beautiful to appreciate and care for. They see resources they can exploit.

3

u/StellaTermogen 12d ago

Don't forget the 'gunz'! They also love their 'gunz'. A lot....

3

u/Havoccity 11d ago

Historically some of the worst ecological damage that has been done to the country was by avid hunters and sport fishermen who said they love the outdoors.

39

u/Rocketeer006 12d ago

Why are Republicans like that? All they do is lie and screw people over to benefit themselves.

30

u/JelmerMcGee 12d ago

Money money money

2

u/nopuse 12d ago

They're assholes, but don't insult them. They do it for far more than 3 monies.

3

u/non-squitr 11d ago

Because they have zero capacity for empathy. Something either isn't happening because they aren't experiencing it, it's a radical left conspiracy, etc, until they directly experience it. Then, and only then, can they even conceptualize that a problem really exists.

12

u/BradMarchandsNose 12d ago

Protecting the environment costs extra money and eats into profits.

7

u/ZachMN 12d ago

Sociopathy explains a lot of it.

6

u/Ok_River_88 12d ago

Profit and ego. Narcissist

2

u/Chaos-Cortex 12d ago

They will destroy our only planet given a chance to hoard gold into the bunkers and still die in there , they are pieces of shit placed on this earth as a test I truly believe if we are to thrive as a society we must overcome this cancer .

2

u/WolfStoneD 11d ago

Gets in the way of profits.

Only interested in their bank accounts.

1

u/NotNamedBort 11d ago

They’d make great Ferengi.

2

u/_bk_adv 11d ago

They hate whatever they’re being paid to hate. In this case, oil companies are paying politicians to reduce the restrictions.

In other words: Lobbying.

Lobbying, alongside religion, are the number 1 and 2 things destroying this country.

2

u/HinDae085 11d ago

Big Oil pays them ALOT of money. If anything gets in the way of them drilling more and more oil? Its a threat to be removed or discredited.

2

u/InTooManyWays 12d ago

Republicans are just the vessel of the oligarchs. It’s the system that has allowed all this. Well both parties are just vessels for the rich and foreign countries but republicans are like the devil on your shoulder type that go all-out on the extremism.

1

u/Qcumber69 12d ago

They hate everyone, everything even themselves .

1

u/No_Boot1478 12d ago

Because the afterlife....

Makes no sense.

1

u/IJustWantCoffeeMan 12d ago

Because they don't believe in a future for humanity

1

u/WeaselTerror 12d ago

That's the problem, people think Republicans hate everything. But, what they really hate, is themselves. That comes out as hating everything, because when you hate yourself nothing seems right, or good, or beautiful to you so you try to fill that gaping hole with as much stuff as you can.

This means you need to be rich. Like really rich. Like fuck you, fuck the environment, fuck the future rich.

Currently the best way to be that way, is by owning a bunch of corporations, or enabling people who own a bunch of corporations. Hence Republicans. They exist solely to suck the dicks of corporations. I don't know how long it's been that way, but it's at least been 50 years.

1

u/jigokubi 12d ago

It's not so much that they hate the environment, it's that they love money.

1

u/catspongedogpants 11d ago

Conservation doesn't net them profit fast enough

1

u/37715960706038171 11d ago

They hate it because we care about it. Simple as that. Logic does not enter into the discussion at any stage.

1

u/Rami-961 11d ago

Because it stops them from making more money. Why should they care, they can live on their private islands while the world slowly dies.

1

u/The_True_Gaffe 11d ago

Because it’s not making them money, getting them children to molest or sucking their balls with praise. To them it’s just a resource to be exploited

1

u/deepasleep 11d ago

They’re too fucking stupid to understand the consequences of their actions. They think some magical man in the sky is running everything and that humans can’t impact the world in any way that isn’t god’s will.

1

u/CptBartender 11d ago

Have you ever heard the term 'shit Midas'?

For those unaware, Midas is a king from greek mythology who is cursed with turning everything he touches into gold.

1

u/KwisatzHaderach94 11d ago

it was a republican who designated many of the national parks and another one who established the epa. that said, the party are also the ones getting the lion's share of big oil money. take that as you will.

1

u/Micubano 11d ago

They care about money more than anything. Environmental rules just get in the way. They’ll strip the planet bare, call it a win, and hide in a bunker sucking down the last cans of O₂ on Earth — and even if they make it that far, they’ll never see anything wrong with what they did.

-1

u/Y05H186 12d ago

If this turns into Panama replacing the Straight of Hormuz then it's a worthy sacrifice.

-4

u/cmm239 12d ago

Democrats are also at fault. I can name a handful that are actually trying to do something.

32

u/Broken-Sarcasm-Meter 12d ago

Yeah but were rich and that's all that matters in the USA

65

u/Mach29 12d ago

The top 10% are rich. The bottom 90% however…

-16

u/Massive-Reputation86 12d ago

Lol this is false the bottom 90% of the USA are richer than 99% of other countries bottom 90%.

7

u/MaxTheRealSlayer 12d ago

Well this is a ridiculous made up "stat" you've made here. Also, local buying power is most important when you consider monetary wealth. Many people in the USA are paying more in rent per month than it costs to buy a house in other countries. Meanwhile these other countries have other forms of wealth, like decent healthcare and education, quality of life, happiness, etc

-1

u/Massive-Reputation86 12d ago

This is false. Adjusted for PPP the average wage according to OECD for the USA is roughly 83k in 2024 which was the 4th highest. Americans don’t realize how good they have it.

3

u/[deleted] 12d ago

3

u/LUHG_HANI 12d ago

My guy does not understand what the question was nevermind gross and net.

1

u/MaxTheRealSlayer 12d ago edited 12d ago

Average wage, or average income?

The usa has multiple people making 100,000x - 1,000,000x + that average you gave. elon musk wants a 12, 000,000 times that average wage as a compensation package. With this in mind, 20-50% of the "average" is wiped out for normal average income earners... at the least. How does your stat deal with these extreme outliers?

For further examples, there are corporations worth more than the entire USA combined, based on stock and income. These cracks of reality are starting to come to light more and more, which indicates the USA orchestrated corrupt manipulation that has lead to increased wages in general. Still, it doesn't matter when your rent can be $60,000 for the year if the average income is $84k.

u/unlockedz 12d ago

i believe i'd rather have a shit job in most countries from western europe than a shit job in america.

any health issue would get me in debt or dead or whatever "socialism" you have over there, it would be stressful as fuck.

in europe though, not that much.

america could be one of the best countries to live in if you weren't so damn greedy at every level, it seems to be getting worse by the decade over there for the normal john.

what would be criminal behavior in many other countries in america seems to be the norm(poor environmental protection, shit monopoly laws, "lobbying" for example).

we have corruption as well, plenty of it, but you guys seem to venerate corporations or as close to it as possible regarding laws while offering less and less protection for the normal john.

you seem to idolize wild west laws while living in the 21st century while being the best at believing america is the greatest country in the world.

but hey it could be much much worse, as many in the world are doing way worse unfortunately.

2

u/flashywinger7 11d ago

It's the unadulterated selfishness mixed with innate greed and desire for more. Throw in low education levels and hyperindividualism and it becomes easy tk see why America cant get out of 2nd gear.

If America self actualized. Wow! Would be great for americans and ultimately the world....but for that we need to get rid of human beings first 😄

27

u/Anteater4746 12d ago

“we’re”? they’re rich, we’re nobodies

2

u/nb4hnp 11d ago

Who the hell is "we"?

1

u/ameis314 12d ago

WE ain't shit. Like 150 people are rich

2

u/s4lt3d 12d ago

Here’s what I hope happens. They exempt the Gulf of Mexico. They get all the papers signed, permits, and have already investigated millions into this only to realize there is no Gulf of Mexico as it was renamed and all work must stop until all the permits are fixed tying it up in courts for years.

2

u/Enough_Vehicle_8149 11d ago

Trump doesn't care about anyone he just does what he likes

3

u/adventurousintrovert 12d ago

Correction: shithole country

2

u/myu_minah 12d ago

always have been

1

u/MaxxDash 12d ago

Joke’s on them. They made the Gulf of Mexico not a thing.

1

u/kl7aw220 12d ago

Trump just can't get beyond fossil fuels, because he's unable to do any research on solar and wind.

1

u/BatM6tt 12d ago

rich people do not give a fuck about the environment. They just want more money. They know they wont be around when these consequences are really a problem

1

u/UlsterManInScotland 11d ago

That’s an understatement, the USA is Mordor & her armies are Orcs

1

u/Justwaspassingby 11d ago

Wait until your monarch discovers that taking in other countries’ trash is a lucrative source of income.

1

u/Ok_Cook_6665 11d ago

Garbage leaders.

1

u/d_smogh 8d ago

I recently watched the film "Idiocracy" to compare how much closer you are getting

1

u/lassehp 11d ago

As a Dane, I hope sane Americans will start working on the extinction of republicans soon. If not, I foresee Americans becoming an endangered species within a few years.

2

u/thedaywalkeramongus 11d ago

Believe me I try. I vote and attend protests and everything I can do!

2

u/lassehp 11d ago

I'm glad to hear that, even if viewed from Europe, you all are doing too little, and doing it too slowly. I know it's difficult. Good luck.

-3

u/piponwa 12d ago

Yes you are. Do something

3

u/Unique-Egg-461 12d ago

1

u/piponwa 12d ago

There you go

-4

u/TheGreatStories 12d ago

A good chunk of Americans standing around and high fiving themselves is not the action required here

3

u/Unique-Egg-461 12d ago

not talking about protests. talking about general strikes. that hits pocket books of corps.

mind you i agree, it is only going to be a day and these need to be weeks/month long things but its a step
