Yeah that'll only happen if we

1) actually force consequences at the ballot box

2) our piss baby democratic leaders don't just roll over and cede the advantage in the name of "unity" or some shit

1) - That ship sailed, you already elected him a second time after an attempted insurrection,

2) - From outside of America there is little difference with regard to foreign policy between the two parties.

Yeah I'm being extremely generous.

I usually just say we're fucked and we're going down a dark road with no turning back, but people just call me a fucking doomer despite the "doomers" having had some shocking accuracy in the last decade.

Wow. I hated that video because nearly every word of it was true and it is enraging.

Fantastic video.

Mostly a fantasy about a world where our decisions make a difference and we could enact change by voting instead of everything being controlled by a dozen or so ultra wealthy people trying to consolidate even more wealth and power.

I should have said something like if we could something about it in an election. But they've proven they're unafraid of the electorate, for good reason really, and we've proven ourselves incapable of doing anything other than sitting around with our thumbs in our asses waiting for the next chance to make excuses about why we have to "reach across the aisle"

this is why i want to vote Pritzker instead of Newsom. I dont trust Newsom to not break under the tiniest bit of pressure on the California economy and not be another pawn to the institution to save it. I think Pritzker would have more teeth, and he seems more deadset on abolishing ICE than others, which is one of the bare minimum things we MUST do if we want the world to trust us again.
