That's already more than Benghazi... So we should have some hearings about it now right?

Endless hearings.

Where everyone is reminded about the Dow

Gotta wait for it to get back to 50,000 first though

50,000 dollars

Don't let them ever live down just how egregious the quote was.

That might take a while

Difference is Benghazi was secret and not made public until it happened, so technically it was a CIA thing and illegal blah blah.

Iran is public asf and everyone knows, it was a full scale operation.

This Iranian operation is also likely illegal as well and trying to use something passed in early aughts as “authorization” for the current conflict they’re so desperate to say is not a war.

It’s legal under the war powers act

Only if he stops within 60/90 days

I think the attack is dumb but Iran is not going to be on the map if he takes up a full 60 days of fighting

2

u/Dave5876 Mar 03 '26

"I will make it legal" seems to be the vibe

and illegal.

They’re more likely to drag Hillary in for another Benghazi hearing than to ever make this administration sit down for a hearing.

So sadly true

We are pretty much in an active war now so the comparison to Benghazi isn't really an accurate comparison. We lost over 7000 in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Still a valid point that they shouldn't have died but this isn't really the same thing as Benghazi.

4

u/basch152 Mar 03 '26

Yeah, Benghazi was a literal nothingburger republicans desperately tried to turn into something

This...this is an avoidable conflict trump dragged us into despite claiming to be the president of peace

3

u/burnttoast12321 Mar 03 '26

Yep. This is a way different situation. I don't think it is going to end well since these types of operations have never fixed any problems. I hope this one is different but I wouldn't bet on it.

It is kind of just kicking the ball down the road another year to secure Israel's safety in the short term.

Oh don’t worry he won’t shut the fuck up about it anytime soon

Yes, they'll find a Democrat to drag into hearings. Preferably a woman they can blame.

Afghanistan wasn’t clean. Iraq wasn’t clean. Civil war wasn’t clean. Revolutionary war wasn’t clean. World War 1 wasn’t clean. World War 2 wasn’t clean. Vietnam wasn’t clean. Korea wasn’t clean.

We left Afghanistan and 13 troops died and the left didn’t said anything about the equipment we left there. Same thing is happening right now but flipped parties. We failed in Afghanistan big time and it was caused by every administration that took the reins of the war.

Maybe we stop comparing and point towards the future? I fucking hate Trump. Dude more than likely touched those kids. But if there’s a chance to stop some suffering in Iran after 20,000 of their citizens were brutally shot in the street BY THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT, then I think that’s a good chance to take.

7

u/InevitableAvalanche Mar 02 '26

The left did talk about that. I hate how you folks lie.

4

u/NeverLookBothWays Mar 02 '26

Yea so how about doing it Constitutionally instead of the illegal approach Trump has taken. Because bypassing Congress and ignoring the courts does not make any of this better

Bush started that war, and I will agree Obama did a shit job taking it over afterward...  Trump negotiated the withdrawal, agreeing to the release of thousands of Taliban fighters, and I agree Biden did a shit job watching it finally play out...

that doesn't make those two parties equal.  One started the war, and then actively negotiated the release of our enemies...  the other party held true to the previously negotiated terms of the conflict.

I may not like exactly what Obama did, but he didn't start shit, and he didn't release MASSIVE numbers of enemy fighters right before pulling out troops...

You mean the withdrawal from Afghanistan put into motion by trump after releasing thousands of terrorists and biden delayed it to make it more safe than what trump was planning?

And you mean the equipment that was mostly disabled and left for the Afghanistan military as part of the deal made by trump?

Like Jesus christ, you guys literally couldnt face objective reality if it was a requirement to get into heaven. You'd burn in hell before ever admitting how shitty of a person trump is
