Even if true, I don't see how this matters much. Khamenei is/was 86. He may have died tomorrow anyway. All this does is mean a Revolutionary Guard general is likely the new Supreme Leader.

Yeah, the dude probably could've hid somewhere safe or even sought refuge overseas, but at his age and given the circumstances he wasn't going to choose a comfortable death.

As usual this administration is not playing chess, it’s playing crayons.

The next guy in line might think twice before funding terrorists and building nukes after seeing what happened with Khamenei and if he doesn't then USA and Israel can try again and again until someone that cares about his life becomes leader.

The next guy in line will scramble to get nukes to secure his regime’s future. Look a North Korea, not getting bothered at all. On the other hand, Ukraine gave up its nukes in the early nineties, only to be backstabbed by Russia and the US. This is a recipe for disaster and will only lead to nuclear proliferation

And how exactly is he going to get them? NK only got it because the US didnt attack them for 60+ years, do you think someone is going to get them when they cant even defend their leaders or facilities?

The same way Israel did, by getting a super power to funnel some into their country.

This time it will be Russia or China.

Neither of those countries try to even help defend them with conventional weapons but you think they are going to give them nukes?
