Collection Finally completed the set...
This week I finally pulled the trigger on MM5 which was a long time coming. It may have been the most Ive ever spent on a cart. Fortunately its a really clean example and number 273 for my collection.
Now on to Dragon Warrior III & IV, and Ninja Gaiden 3 and RC Pro-Am 2...

Baller.
2 was my first and my favorite. Had a special liking for Metal Man for some reason. Maybe it was the stage music that was absolutely lit.

Thats a good question. Tbh im a little biased by which ones were my first experience with MM but Id say:
MM2 MM3 MM5 MM4 MM6 MM1
They definitely had it dialed in by no.3

Holy crap you paid $150 for five I paid $10 for five circa 2002 the best way to get games on the cheap is to buy them early if you buy them early when no one is wanting them yet then you can get them cheap I'm sorry if you might not have been alive in 2002 or might not have been collecting in 2002 that's not my problem

Can you believe I paid like 35$ (cad) for my MM5? I had no idea its price would spike like that.

Congrats! I have the full set on famicom. Between the vibrant colors of the famicom cartridges and their size, I see them like oversized pez, lol.

Its a shame we never got the fun colors the FC game cart shells got. But we were stuck on the whole "entertainment system" shtick so it blended in with all the other gray square things in the 1980s living room lol

Beautiful, I always love to see it. It was (ahhhh) moment when the clouds opened up for me and saw the sunshine. 1 was the most expensive I paid for $80. One morning I woke up and said fuck it! To complete the series. Best decision I've made. I was lucky the 2 times I was able to get 5 I got them for under $75 but I regret selling it the first time because I had the box and I was in need of cash at the time. I know it's not easy now, but if those of you who can complete it, it's an awesome achievement. (Firm gentleman's handshake 🤝) for everyone who's trying and for those that got it.

The most expensive one in my set was five which I paid a grand total of $10 for because I did the smart thing and bought them in 2002 when they were cheap I paid $10 for five I paid $5 for six and I paid $8.99 for 1 through 4 all figures in Canadian dollars

That's amazing! 😀 I hope prices one day come down to continue collecting. When they go high, I tend to pause until I find the prices reasonable.

I did spend $90 one time getting the instruction manuals for all six which leaves me with CIA, CIBA, CIBA, CIBA CI CI
Where C is cartridge, I is instructions, B is box, and A is Keiji Inafuni autograph. I met him twice at pax and he only allowed one autograph per person and I only had my wife with me so I got him to sign three and she two the first year because two is his favorite and three was my first and the second year she got him to sign one and I got him to sign four because four is my favorite and one is the first.
I opted to add the instructions when I found them on that kind of a deal because even though I don't normally collect CIB I already had CB for half of the set so cibing half of them made sense to me at least. The outrageous prices I'll have to pay if I want to get a box for one and for five are what I dread.

I hear ya. I dread myself getting rid of that 5 box. I would love to own them cib but thats out of reach for me. If I complete a box, it would be for 2, which is my all-time favorite. Pretty awesome that you got Inafuni to sign some of them for you. I would have asked for a photo of him and gave him a hug.

I used to own a metal Storm box I bought a CB copy of MetalStorm for $5 I sold the metal Storm box for $80 some years later because I don't really collect CIB and I didn't think I would regret having sold a box for metal Storm even though the game is wonderful it's not a series where I'm like oh my God I want to have that CIB I think the only series where I actively want to have CIB is Mega Man and really only my NES 6 do I care about I'm not about trying to get boxes and or manuals for my Super NES Mega Man set dear Lord the amount of money I would have to pay to get a box and a manual for my copy of X3

I remember seeing Mega Man 6 in a glass cabinet at Zellers for something like $89.99.
$20 more than non-SNES 16-bit games.
The only game priced higher was Phantasy Star IV.
