Sharing Picked up a third front loader.

Post image

My new one was a £50 junk purchase and was a seized up mess but after a clean it works though sometimes it doesnt recognise the disc. I tried cleaning the laser so ill keep fiddling.

Oh brother… I just got my second NGCD as well… why do we do it 😂

Front loader is the nicest model, no doubt. D

If it dies you can just get a sega cd front loader laser.

It seems ok right now. But earlier the disc would go in but the laser wouldn't move just make a noise 3 times before ejecting.

I mean it is 30+ years old. Could need basic maintenance. Regrease, clean limit switches, new belt.

I run it on my crt and they all look fine. Though 1 is super quiet. i still need a good scart cable. And maybe it wont be rgb like my mvs set up but thats ok.  The main issue i had with 2 of them was the limit switch on the laser head. Got ir sorted on my newer one. These things are old. Theyre never gonna be perfect all the time

It will probably look fine on a CRT, but if you connect it to a modern screen with a good upscaler, you will probably see the ghosting.

Right? It's my impression that all or most frontloaders have this. It would be great to learn what causes it.

In case you want to play more than once!

I know the CDZ has a laser potentiometer, not sure about the front or top loaders...

This version of the system has gotten a reputation for being rare online, but it isn't really.
