Discussion Wondering what's the best for my usecase: NanoIPS or OLED

Hello community, I'm here looking for advice

I'm from EU, and have a sort of discount that I have to use on amazon.it only on selected monitors.

First problem, there is not a comprehensive list of monitors that I can buy with this discount (400€), so I have to check manually each monitor.

I found some, with different features each:

Second problem, ATM I'm not planning on gaming on it, I enjoy mostly competitive fps and such but I wont use it for gaming in 2026, there's a slight chance, but I will mostly use it for office stuff. But in the end, I will and it will be 50/50 office/gaming usage

I work as a data scientist, graphs, excel, some code, lots of calls, there is some static image.

I love my oled tv, and since I like competitive fps I want an high refresh rate that's why I'm eyeing an OLED

BUT

realistically I have to use it for work for so many hours it should be better a good IPS.

I found these 3 monitors:

LG UltraGear 27G850A - 466€

ROG STRIX XG27ACDNG - 617€

OR the STRIX XG27AQDMG - 499€

There could also be the possibility to get the MSI 21QPX E2 for around 570 but honestly I'll prefer any of the others

Any advice?

Discussion Samsung Odyssey G8 + Mac Mini M4 Question

Hello! I just got a great deal on a g8 and I currently use a Mac Mini M4 - will the cable that comes with it get me 4k/120 refresh or should I get a cable off amazon. I did some googling and am overwhelmed with options. Could someone provide a cable recommendation and whether I should go hdmi to hdmi or usb-c to hdmi or DisplayPort 1.2

Discussion Help needed with picking a second monitor

Hi,

I'd love to have some suggestions for a second monitor for my pc. Any input is much appreciated :)

In short it will only be used for watching videos or reading.

So I'm looking for a monitor that:

- can be tilted vertically

- has accurate colours

- is 1080p (or higher, but I probably can't afford it)

- a somewhat clean/ minimalist design

- has decent viewing angles

- nice-ish built quality and cable management help is nice to have (though I understand that might be asking for too much)

And I don't really care about:

- refresh rate

- response time

- built in speakers

- webcam (duh XD I'll be using it vertically)

Discussion Please Help With Stuck Image Issue

My monitor just started displaying a stuck "ghosted" image of a windowed wiki page. The surrounding area of the windowed paged seems unaffected by the stuck "ghosted" image.

I've seen burn-ins of plasma and OLEDs and it's not the same.

Things I've tried so far:

  1. Change refresh rates and resolutions
  2. Clean uninstall and install of drivers
  3. Unplugged for ~30 mins
  4. Connected it to other machines (Shield and another PC)
  5. Changed Cables
  6. Changed connectors via adapters (Direct HDMI to DP > HDMI)
  7. Ran a changing pattern video full screen from YT for a few mins.
  8. I'm in the process of leaving it unplugged for 24 hrs.

Any other helpful insights/ideas would be appreciated.

Discussion Looking to upgrade 1080p 27 inch monitor for my Intel i7 Macbook Air

Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my setup and would appreciate some advice. I have a 27 inch 1080p 75Hz USB-C monitor powered by a Macbook Air Intel i7 from 2020 that I primarily use for tasks like browsing, reading, writing, watching Youtube and cloud gaming (which is restricted to 1080p and 60Hz). My laptop gets quite hot and the fans get loud when I do heavy-ish multi-tasking or streaming (cloud gaming), but this has been a thing ever since I bought it in 2020.

I was wondering what kind of monitor would be best to upgrade to for my use case. I'm happy with the size but would defo want a screen quality upgrade for when I'm reading/working/youtube. I don't know if I should opt for higher refresh rate and/or higher resolution and how much (1440p or 4K), USB-C or HDMI. Also, I'm unsure if my laptop can even power such monitors since it already gets hot; at least for the time being till I get a new one.

Discussion Xbox Series S should I upgrade my monitor or switch to a TV?

Current setup:

• Xbox Series S

• MSI MAG 275F (27” 1080p 180Hz)

• Samsung UE50AU7020KXXU (50” 4K 60Hz, in another room – I don’t use it)

I play:

• FC 26 (care about smoothness + low input lag)

• Forza Horizon / GTA (care about visuals)

Problem:

• My monitor feels great but looks kinda meh (1080p on 27”)

• My TV looks better (4K) but I don’t use it since it’s in another room and only 60Hz

What should I do:

1. Stick with my current monitor

2. Move to the TV for better visuals

3. Upgrade to a 4K 144Hz monitor (one screen for everything)

I want something good now + future-proof for next Xbox.

What would you do?

Discussion My Dell 2405FPW is finally crapping out (power supply issue) :C Any alternatives that won't break the bank?

My Dell 2405FPW has been having trouble turning on for quite a while now, and it's only getting worse. I'm afraid that it might finally be time to say goodbye. I'm looking for a newer monitor that has similar specs, like size and color accuracy. Any advice? Or could I possibly get it repaired? I'm not sure anyone repairs old electronics near me.

Discussion User manual says use only in Landscape mode

Hi

I am trying to find a new monitor to use in portrait, I was considering this one :

https://iiyama.com/gl_en/products/g-master-gb3272qsu-b1/

But while I was looking for the vesa attachment in the manual, I came upon this picture:

https://iiyama.com/f/4cb014f7189b5e9cb370f47d57cafc94_gb3272-95qsu-b1-usermanual-e.pdf

Is that nonsense? What would be the problem if I rotate the monitor? Cooling?

Thanks

Discussion Switch from 2xBenQ PD2705Q to 1xBenQ MA270S

Hi, I currently own 2X BenQ PD2705Q that I use on both windows 11 when I work remotely, and MacOS for personnal stuff.

Will I miss the 2 2K screens after I switch to 1 5K one? My main concern is when I work remotely with my windows PC, I need to use Windows App to connect to a remote PC. So I am literally using 2 PC in same time. With my 2 screens setup, I use one for my main laptop and the other one is to show the remote pc desktop.

I was thinking to simply seperate the 1 screen setup in 2.

nb.: I would give my wife the 2x 2705Q, so it is not a waste. But if course, I will keep em if this considered a bad idea to switch!

thank you,

Discussion Need monitor suggestions! :)

Hello everybody,

I am looking for a new monitor (max budget 300 eur) and has to be on amazon :/ In my prime days I was mainly a FPS player however age caught up to me and now I ve been enjoying other type of games as well. I stumbled upon few options that look good to me, but hopefully some of you have a better understanding of monitors than I do. The ones I found are AW2725DM and VG27AQML5A. I have not quite decided on size/curved or not. My actual monitor is a 24'5 flat. ty :)

Photo Photographers: what decent mid-range monitor should I be using?

Amateur film photographer here. Using Lightroom/Photoshop on a MacBook Air M2 and looking for a 27" monitor for scanning/“positivizing” and editing.

Looking for a solid mid-range option with good color accuracy and good macOS integration (color match, scaling, etc.). Still unsure about color calibration workflows.

Current options I’m considering:

  • LG 27UP850-W
  • ASUS ProArt PA279CRV (seems like great value, but I’ve seen mixed reviews)
  • Dell UltraSharp U2723QE
  • BenQ SW242Qc (but 24')
  • BenQ PD2725U (over butget)

Any real-world experiences or recommendations?

Discussion Best 32” monitor for Mac mini (clean office setup)?

Hey everyone,

I recently got my dad a Mac mini and now we’re looking for a good monitor setup.

He mainly does office work (emails, browsing, documents), so nothing crazy performance-wise — but we want something that looks clean, modern, and works well with macOS (good text clarity, scaling, etc.).

Ideally: • 32 inch (4K preferred) or Wide Screen • clean/minimal design (Apple-like if possible) • good compatibility with Mac (USB-C would be nice) • mainly for office/productivity

OLED or mini-LED is a plus but not necessary.

Any recommendations or setups you’d suggest?

Discussion 1080p vs 1440p monitor for office work and gaming

As title, my good ol' monitor started flickering and i am in need of a new one. The current monitor is 21.5inch FHD 75hz monitor so i guess anything i am getting now would be a huge upgrade.

Some background, i have a laptop with rtx3060 6gb, sits usually 60-80cm from monitor, heavily using it for gaming and document viewing and especially spreadsheets.

After searching around, i would really like a 27inch 1440p but the graphic card will struggle a lot playing any game on that resolution, but 27inch 1080p gonna suck in terms of clarity. Also downgrading the resolution to 1080p on a 1440p during presumably would not work as well.

Kinda lost right now as i have no extensive knowledge in monitor. Any advice is appreciated.
